What do you think they 'll come up with in order to work the new Halflings from core to inside the Realms' world? How will the new, taller, clannish and nomadish roamers 4e Halflings fit into the pre-established Abeir-Torilian Halfling race? ![]() |

There is variance between races by setting, just look at FR vs. Eberron races, almost all of them are different. |

Hopefully all that flavor stuff (or most of it) in Races and Classes about the races and their backstories and such are simply the default "setting" info and they won't try to force them on every single campaign setting. It's what I think too. No matter what the 4e PHB says about the new Halfling face lift, I really hope that in Abeir-Toril the little fellas will remain intact; as they 've always been: 3-3,5 feet tall, home-staying farmers, gluttonous individuals who don't like the adventurous life much (albeit with notable exceptions!). Heck, I love my Hobbits! |

I'm pretty certain I read somewhere that FR will be to 4E, what Eberron was to 3E. Namely a setting that had to include everything found in the "core" rules. As such I think you'll be disappointed in the taller, nomadic halflings you'll find in 4E Faerun. By the way ... love the picture! |
