| #1steelwindSep 24, 2008 11:29:55 | Can anyone inform me as to if anything has been released yet on if everyones favorite "evil" elf, Elaith Craulnober, has survived to current FR times, and if so whats he up to nowadays. |
| #2green_elven_vampireSep 24, 2008 11:44:31 | Well, the way things are going in the new 4ED realms, with all the retcons and ludicrous changes, he's most likely dead, killed by a bullywug. |
| #3lord_karsusSep 24, 2008 11:55:28 | Can anyone inform me as to if anything has been released yet on if everyones favorite "evil" elf, Elaith Craulnober, has survived to current FR times, and if so whats he up to nowadays. -Nothing has been mentioned of him, as of yet. He is an Elf, so it is likely that he is still alive, being as that 100 years is not very long for an Elf. It's wholly possible that he met some unseen end. However, if he didn't, again, it is likely he's still alive and up to something, somewhere. |
| #4steelwindSep 24, 2008 12:15:58 | Thank you for the replies guys, GEV you seem a little more bitter these days than i remember ;) , and LK if anyone knew what the hells going on around here I knew it would be you, well since Kuje left the forums way back in the day anyway, you've become "that guy". One more question if you guys dont mind, what happened to the Seven Sisters, I know there all dead, but how? |
| #5keverasSep 24, 2008 12:21:11 | I'm heavily disappointed, I've to admit, for I thought you're asking about the mysterious Serpent from Die Vecna Die! Anyway, I'd say that he is cunning enough that he's still around somewhere. Also, Waterdeep escaped most of the effects of the Spellplague. |
| #6rinonalyrna_fathomlinSep 24, 2008 12:46:15 | One more question if you guys dont mind, what happened to the Seven Sisters, I know there all dead, but how? They are not all dead. Show I know Storm and Dove are unaccounted for. I heard Laeral was dead on Candlekeep, but when I asked where exactly that was confirmed I did not get an answer. The Simbul is still alive and living in the Dalelands (see the FRCG). Alustriel passed away as per the FRCG. Sylune died in the recent Shadowdale adventure, and Qilue was killed in the final book of the Lady Penitent trilogy. |

One more question if you guys dont mind, what happened to the Seven Sisters, I know there all dead, but how? -Some of the Seven Sisters, we know what happened to them, and some of them, we don't. Sylune was killed during a Zhent incursion into Shadowdale in 1374 DR Qilue sacrificed herself while she was serving as Eilistraee's mortal vessel in 1378 DR. Alustriel passed away sometime during the 3e to 4e transition. The Simbul is living "covertly" in Shadowdale, and is no longer the ruler of Alglarond. Dove, we don't know. Storm, we don't know. Laeral, we don't know. |
| #8karazhanSep 24, 2008 18:51:43 | As for Storm, I am assuming she is dead as they refer to her as such in the Epic Faerun article. To quote "great Harpers who have gone before you--Storm Silverhand, Cylyria of Berdusk, etc.". As Cylyria is now a Ghost Harper, Storm might be one too but she is gone. |
| #9lord_karsusSep 25, 2008 10:25:07 | -She could be..."exploring 'Abeir'", like all of those other deities...Yeah... |
| #10rinonalyrna_fathomlinSep 25, 2008 10:46:52 | I think Ed hinted on Candlekeep that Storm wasn't dead--not sure what post that was though. |
| #11sfdragonSep 25, 2008 14:18:36 | if it was the one in reply to my question Ed said that one of the 2 ladies i mentioned was still alive during the year of the ageless one. as for Elaith, he is eladrin right? he is likely still around, but old age would of set in, and he would of likely left for the feywild or myth drannor to live out the rest of his days in peace. |
| #12rinonalyrna_fathomlinSep 25, 2008 14:29:12 | if it was the one in reply to my question Ed said that one of the 2 ladies i mentioned was still alive during the year of the ageless one. Would you be able to copy and paste that answer here? |
| #13sfdragonSep 25, 2008 15:25:23 | Would you be able to copy and paste that answer here? I could..... but should I????? probably shouldnt have vegeta's theme playing right now either. http://forum.candlekeep.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10427&whichpage=58 Originally posted by The Hooded One |

| #16lord_karsusSep 25, 2008 20:25:50 | Wait a moment... Dove or Storm are alive? No chance of both? -Well, one is definitely not dead. The other could definitely not be dead as well. He wasn't talking about that one, though. ;) |
| #17IluvrienSep 25, 2008 20:31:16 | -Well, one is definitely not dead. The other could definitely not be dead as well. He wasn't talking about that one, though. ;) Are you sure that you aren't in politics? Or the legal profession? Well I shall cross my fingers and hope that Ambara and Ethena both made it... even if I expect that only one did. ![]() |
| #18lord_karsusSep 25, 2008 20:35:42 | Are you sure that you aren't in politics? Or the legal profession? -I was born a Jew, raised by a Catholic, wholly agnostic, and now studying eastern mysticism. I am a mystery within an enigma in a riddle. |
| #19rinonalyrna_fathomlinSep 25, 2008 20:45:29 | -I was born a Jew, raised by a Catholic, wholly agnostic, and now studying eastern mysticism. I am a mystery within an enigma in a riddle. Hee. ![]() Iluvrien, in MY Realms all Seven Sisters are still alive.:D |
| #20lord_karsusSep 25, 2008 20:53:35 | -Bah. I tried coming up with some sexual innuendo pun, but it didn't work. |
| #21IluvrienSep 25, 2008 21:07:18 | -I was born a Jew, raised by a Catholic, wholly agnostic, and now studying eastern mysticism. I am a mystery within an enigma in a riddle. No, I think confusing is probably a better adjective, LK. :D Iluvrien, in MY Realms all Seven Sisters are still alive.:D Well, if I had a Realms (one I was either running or playing as a game) then they would be in mine too. I would proffer proper praise (aliteration, good on toast) for this act of heroism in saving the Seven... but LK has already threatened me with violence for doing that once ;). So, Jolly Good Show. |
| #22lord_karsusSep 25, 2008 21:12:56 | Well, if I had a Realms (one I was either running or playing as a game) then they would be in mine too. -Over at The Realms Vault, I began a PbP campaign that stalled, and never got off the ground. Were I to find more players, I'd run it. I would proffer proper praise (aliteration, good on toast) for this act of heroism in saving the Seven... but LK has already threatened me with violence for doing that once ;). -He can be taught! ![]() |
| #23WizardmanSep 26, 2008 1:35:29 | Hee. Ditto! Back on the (official) topic, how would we stat Elaith? Previous editions had him as a Teu'Tel'Quess Fighter/Mage. Would anyone else consider making him an Eladrin Swordmage? |
| #24ProinSep 26, 2008 3:29:18 | other reasons Elminster is alive and his head is a very crowded place, huh? I'd say deus ex machina but I think it's more deus ex the old sage's cranium And I don't see why Elaith would be dead. He's a crafty moon elf, that one, with much power in Waterdeep. If anything I'd think he would be MORE well off than before, after all time lays low many a foe. And I wonder if his daugter ever takes up the moonblade? |
| #25lord_karsusSep 26, 2008 10:11:07 | Back on the (official) topic, how would we stat Elaith? Previous editions had him as a Teu'Tel'Quess Fighter/Mage. Would anyone else consider making him an Eladrin Swordmage? -In 4e terms? I'd say he's a Wizard/Fighter, but I don't know how 4e multiclassing works, really. Fighter with Wizard multiclass feats, something like that. |
| #26gomeztooSep 26, 2008 10:31:07 | The Simbul is living "covertly" in Shadowdale, and is no longer the ruler of Alglarond. The Simbul lives covertly in the Dalelands, not necessarily Shadowdale. Gomez |
| #27creyzi4zb12Sep 26, 2008 12:15:37 | I tot u wer tallking about the Serpent..the god of the creator races? |
| #28lord_karsusSep 26, 2008 12:16:15 | -Elaith "The Serpent" Craulnober. |
| #29steelwindSep 26, 2008 19:32:59 | Wow, this thread kinda took on a life all its own. That was an awesome excerpt from Ed, thanks for sharing that. And yes I am in agreement that Elaith is crafty enough to not only have survived but thrived in the preceding years, also I was wondering about his daughter taking up the moonblade too (i wonder how many of those are still around in 1479). To the poster who said hes in the Feywild or moved to Myth Drannor, for one it is possible for Moon Elves for 750 years (although that is the very extreme), and Elaith is nowhere near that old. Two, I highly doubt seeing Elaith move to Myth Drannor, I would think hes pretty much done living in elven settlements ever since he left Evermeet, no hes probably still in Waterdeep doing his thing the way he does. And for the love of god, dont ever call any Moon/Sun elf an Eladrin again, they are Moon elves and Sun elves not celestial beings ;) . |
| #30rinonalyrna_fathomlinSep 26, 2008 19:34:28 | Well, if I had a Realms (one I was either running or playing as a game) then they would be in mine too. You have a Realms in your mind. ![]() I would proffer proper praise (aliteration, good on toast) for this act of heroism in saving the Seven... but LK has already threatened me with violence for doing that once ;). Well, thanks anyway.:P |
| #31rinonalyrna_fathomlinSep 26, 2008 19:39:19 | Ditto! That could work. Although, maybe multiclass him with wizard, for good measure? He's used magic before that wasn't related to battle. LK: Yes, you multiclass with feats. Basically, a character has one "main" class and they make take one (and only one) multiclass feat. From what I understand that represents sticking one's toe in a second class rather than truly "splitting one's interests"--you are always going to be more your original class than the second class. |

| #35lord_karsusSep 27, 2008 10:43:23 | Well, you could always look at my PHB again.;) Just ask and you shall receive. -I shall ask, then, and hope to receive. anyway, i dont think he would of stayed in waterdeep. -Like I said, Waterdeep is, more or less, his home. I see no reason for him to travel to an Elven realm. While he is Elven by birth, he is not Elven by deed. |
| #36green_elven_vampireSep 28, 2008 23:59:07 | Hmmmm... Elaith Craulnober, wasn't he turned into a Luskan Lobster during the spellplague? |
| #37naexSep 29, 2008 2:34:44 | In a related matter, I would like to see what became of Elaith's daughter and her Moonblade? Perhaps we could convince Elaine Cunningham to give us a small DDI article to give us some resolution. |
| #38lord_karsusSep 29, 2008 12:40:47 | Hmmmm... Elaith Craulnober, wasn't he turned into a Luskan Lobster during the spellplague? -That's as likely as anything else. In a related matter, I would like to see what became of Elaith's daughter and her Moonblade? Perhaps we could convince Elaine Cunningham to give us a small DDI article to give us some resolution. -Why? So many people request such things, and I never understand why. Her blade might not exist anymore, anyway, with the Hopeblades and all. |
| #39rinonalyrna_fathomlinSep 29, 2008 19:47:22 | It's not impossible for Elaine to do a DDI article, but I would like to point out that Elaine currently has her hands full with other (non-Realms) projects. |
| #40naexSep 29, 2008 19:54:55 | -Why? So many people request such things, and I never understand why. Her blade might not exist anymore, anyway, with the Hopeblades and all. Mostly just curiosity to see where the story went I suppose. She would be old enough now to be making an impact on the realms. It would be interesting to see how she feels about her father, provided she actually learns who he is. As for the Hopeblades, my understanding from Blackstaff, was that the Moonblades used were the inert ones. |

She already knows Elaith is her father (there's a short story in the anthology by Elaine that has her as a character). |
| #42lord_karsusSep 29, 2008 20:45:37 | Mostly just curiosity to see where the story went I suppose. She would be old enough now to be making an impact on the realms. -See, this is something I never envisioned. Just because she is a "novel character" with a serious "estate" to be given to her, I never gave it a second thought that she'd ever be a "mover or shaker", on the local level, in the grand scheme of things, nothing. |
