Feb 17, 2009 14:29:16 I have a question. I was reading that in the Forgotten Realms there are more than 1. It says that in Wikipedia here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarrasque_(Dungeons_%26_Dragons)#Society). I've never heard of that before. Has anyone else?

Feb 17, 2009 17:04:59 I've never heard of the Tarrasque being part of the Forgotten Realms. I thought it was something from Greyhawk, or another setting I don't know as much about. In whatever setting it was originally in, there was supposed to be only one. Though I can see why they would say there are multiple: it allows adventurers to kill more than one.

Feb 17, 2009 18:08:44 While the Tarrasque exist on Toril (Karsus used her pituitary gland as one of the many material components for Karsus Avatar and there's even a time travel adventure durin which the players are tasked with harvesting it for him, although at this time the wish spell wasn't created yet and so the Big T. just regenerates her wounds and survives) that's the first time I heard about multiple Tarrasques existing on Toril (yet there was some other planet mentioned in some spelljammer supplement that is populated by thousands of Tarrasques and all other live hides in the underdark)

Feb 17, 2009 19:12:18 There have been multiple incidences of Tarrasques in FR. I don't know if it's been confirmed that they were different beasts. Perhaps it was the same Tarrasque that has moved around between rampages.

In the old DC Forgotten Realms comics, a Tarrasque was awakened by a madman in the 1350s, and was dealt with by the crew of the Realmsmaster and Elminster. This occurred somewhere between Shadowdale and the Dragonreach, I think, the geography was vague.

I've also heard of a sleeping Tarrasque somewhere in the Anauroch. This may be the one Karsus harvested. But I don't when it was last active.

-There is nothing that states that there are 2 Tarrasques on Abeir-Toril. Once again, this' a case of Wikipedia having information that is factually incorrect.
