I tried posting the question in the sister forum. However, it seems this is the better place. If I'm mistaken then I apologize.

Does anyone knows how can the Brotherhood of the Burning Heart (Dragon magazin, Issue 314) can be brought into the lore of the Realms?

Cheers!

-I'd turn it into a Bardic College, and then place it in any large city- Waterdeep, Silverymoon, Baldur's Gate, Calimport. It isn't particularly tied to fire as something destructive as it is tied to fire as something that symbolizes passion.

-More or less, it's an order that came together when a writer was seeking his muse, and studying other works, by other people. He noticed numerous mentions to 'fire', and had the epiphany that literal and symbolic fire is tied to the ability to find inspiration.

Well, the text mostly say how a guy named Numa succeded in exctracting passion out of fire and then went about spreading his theories regarding that (hence "burning" heart). The only thing significant added later is that the brotherhood is presented wherever there is a community, be it small hamlet or metropolis, but by having such huge spread it's ideology differ from one place to another.

Basically they emphasize creation of beutiful things such as art and poetry (very bardic like) and curiosity and the like.

Not much of a divine sect. But I can see how they are close to Sune.

-Oghma and- more accurately- Finder Wyvernspur would both also espouse this.

Brotherhood of the Burning Heart

Symbol: In places of gathering of the brotherhood it is common to find an etching, usually on a door (when in urban area) or on marking stone (in rural areas), of notes rising upwards in a snake-like motion. To one of the Burning Heart the notes seems as if dancing, flickering.

Backround, Goals, and Dreams: Started as collective of bards researching for inspiration and muse when one, named Numa, found connection with fire.
Now members of the organization learn to stoke their heart's desire. They wish for anyone to share the philosophy of passion. However, there is no moral or ethical guidance - resulting in wide array of people feeling passionate about a host of different issues.

Members: Initially expected only for musicians and performers. However, artists, craftsmen, men who dwell with the Art and more have already joined. The Brotherhood welcomes any who wish to join.

Enemies and Allies: Unanimously agreed that apathy is the enemy, no villains have been named so far. Clergy of Sune will feel at home within the organization.

Type: Temple - college, buisness.

Scale: Either 4 (looking at only one gathering) or 11 (considering the widespread over multipule cities).

Affiliation Score Criteria:

I'd run with LK's take, and make it a Bardic School, but also add-in that it is a heresy of Kossuth (he's willing to take worshippers anyway he can get them).

Kossuth as a muse... interesting... almost a 'rebirth through destruction' thing going on there...

Or 'baptism by fire', which basically means "that which doesn't kill us makes us stronger". Taken to an exteme, it could mean that one's 'firey passion' can lead to inspiration, if it doesn't first consume the individual (things like obssession).
