Jan 20, 2009 11:47:53 -The answer varies, then. In 3e, it was explained that Wizards "learn" to cast magic through arcane formulas and such, while Sorcerers had a special in-born talent. With the 4e rule changes, this has changed. Maybe.

-Because various different magical traditions exist across Faerûn, some places have a heavier ratio of "Wizards" to "Sorcerers", and vice versa, as well as Psions, and other pseudo-spellcasting classes.

Jan 20, 2009 12:02:10 From what I read about the wizard from the 4E player's handbook, it seems that anyone with the proper intelligence and training can use arcane power in the wizardly tradition. I wanted to make sure this was the case with the Forgotten Realms.

Jan 20, 2009 12:04:31 -Sure. As per the rules (3e) anyone with an Intelligence over 10 can cast spells as a Wizard/Sorcerer. I don't know how 4e handles it, but I am sure it is something similar. The power of your magician is in proportion to his/her/it's intelligence.
