As to the topic at hand, I did enjoy playing in the Realms, and will probably do so again, but for now, there's too much antipathy built up to do so for a bit. Hopefully, I'll get the chance to continue the campaign I had running at some point in the future, but it looks like Saga is the way we're going to go once everyone returns from their various trips.

And I think the forum as a whole needs rather less of that. It is one thing to love something and support a game system, it's quite another to take up sword and shield against fellow posters. Therefore, I shall revise the quote for myself, and say that I am instead "a fan of the true Realms, which does not need to be defended." It's a game, a hobby. Enjoy it, but don't let your enjoyment carry over to fighting with others on forums or elsewhere.

Back to topic 1: He is fooling himself 2: see #1 3:the gods answer to AO, and his rules state this and that. also He would not truly been able to take her divine essence since Mystra's essence was both that of shar and selune. Sure, being killed by Cyric is a bit like being killed by the Three-Stooges, but because he's so ridiculous you just don't realize the plank he's carrying around is a threat until its too late.

I like the story of the fledgeling gods in the realms. I also have no problem with anthropomorphic description of them, as that's how it actually is in most fantasy settings. Infact the pronounced presence of the gods is my main atrraction to the realms, including the Time of Troubles and the Spellplague. Both are evocative and give a sense of wonder how they had transpired.

A lot of people gripe and complain about this or that, one thing or another... but I have honestly enjoyed the ride and look forward to what's to come. Long live the Realms and long live 4e.
