-Some of these are obvious, some of these are stretching it a little, but...

-And, as always, further suggestions/ideas/etc. are not frowned upon.

Spelljammers were a portfolio?

I am Jammy, GOD OF SPELLJAMMERS!

Heh.

This is an interesting list. Props for compiling it.

[edit]

haha! Sheep and unskilled labour. Some of these are rather funny, if you picture them as standalone portfolios. A god of sheep is somehow just an amusing idea.

-Anything can be a portfolio. ;)

-Hey, I did say that some were reaching a bit. A bit silly and such, but they're, in reality, free portfolios.

Well, if they're free, I guess I could help out. I'll take mute humanoids aaaand, let's see. Triplets.

I might be able to squeeze in one more if you don't get enough takers.

Hmm... I would like to claim a few of those portfolios...:D

I'll grab slaves... but not as a god who supports slavery but as a god who helps slaves, as in slaves often worship him.

*ahem*

All of these unclaimed portfolios are being liquidated and seized by the government to help shore up the foundations of our struggling cosmology.

Do not be alarmed, I am with the government and I am here to help.

"You're lame.": Kobluyat, Exarch of Killjoys.

"No I provide for you and your fellows!": cried Moosse, God of Milk.

No god of swordplay?

I'll take Alcohol, fog, aaand...... oh hells why not, Indifference. Or should I? Maybe I shouldn't. Meh, what do I care.

What about the idea of Nessicary Evils? The whole for the greater good idea. -Could that be a portfolio?- Nevermind. Anything can be a portfolio... Just wondered where this would come in.

-Not exactly following what you mean. Could you define "Necessary Evils" better? As in, "Well, in order to kill those 1,000 Orcs, we needed to kill the Druid protecting the valley pass."?

Pretty much. The only way I see it coming into play is through assassination, but give me enough time and I'll think of another example.

-I get you. Assassination is a necessary evil, sometimes. Assassination is an evil act, but the only way to kill the LE dictator and freeing the oppressed people would be to assassinate the dictator.

Exactly. It seems a perfect, if not some what crude example. Prehaps purposely bankrupting a guild so that the more plentiful entrepreneurs can thrive under the colapsed monopoly.

-Unfortunately, the D&D alignment system has it's limitations, and this is one of them. Utilitarianism, which is the philosophy, that, basically, an action is justified if more benefit from it than are jeopardized by it, it moral. The assassination example is the perfect example. In D&D however, assassination is still evil, no matter how it is justified.

-That sounds specific enough to not fall within the 'Rot' portfolio, so sure. I'll add it in.

Great. They are a specific life form, and deserve their own catergory.

How about ascension or transcendence? A religion built upon using divine magic to grant its most devout followers the half-celestial template. That could become powerful and popular very quickly.

That's what I was thinking. Protist sounds like the same of that evil flying monkey head from my little brother's Starfox game.
