| #1nicholas_the_paladinAug 09, 2009 4:58:56 | Hi guys, My next adventure will take place in the Moonlands in the North of Faerun (Silver Marches). The adventure will mainly revolve around the Black Lion Clan, since the PC's must help them with attacks and a dangerous journey. Besides that, there will be encounters with the 'sky pony' clan and de 'black raven clan' (...and maybe the red tiger clan.) Do you have some pointers as how to roleplay them? - Black Lion Clan: the PC's will help them overcome a threat, stay in their villages and make a journey with the clan. I want to give them a good sense of what the Black Lions are like - sky pony' clan : a short (brigand) encounter on the road. The sky ponies are patrolling and demand a toll for passage - black raven clan': the 'badguys' in this adventure. Roleplaying will be minor, but I want to give an impression nontheless - red tiger clan: a possible encounter on the road I know that for most 'southlanders' all barbarians are alike. So in part I also want to give the PC's a idea of what the barbarians in general are like. Thanks ! |

Most black lion clan members no longer worship Uthgar but instead follow the Tyr alliance of Tyr (now dead), Torm, Ilmater and Helm (now Dead). They do alot of farming and herding as opposed to pillaging and looting like the other tribes. The sky pony tribe is highly nomadic. They believe their totem to be a manifestation of Tempus as opposed to Uthgar. Sky pony tribe heroes ussually quest for a pegasus mount. Black raven tribe is the most hard core. Lots of pillaging and looting. Prefer giant raven mounts. Red tiger clan are really into hunting and the wilderness. It is considered for them the hieght of hunting prowess to make a kill using only a triple bladed stone dagger which they call tiger claws. All the tribes (except perhaps the black lions)as a whole see civillization as a cancer on the land that needs to be cut out. Fighting between the tribes is common but they will commonly put aside their differences against their common enemy, Orcs. Hopes this helps its mostly 1e info but it should still be relevant. |

I think the Great Worm tribe is in (roughly) the shame ship as the Black Lions when it comes to most civilizations. Though probably not by much. Great Worm, my favorite Uthgart Tribe. |

Yeah they were cool. they had an actual great worm as their head shaman, pretty kick a$$. I always liked the Gray Wolves my self. A whole tribe of werewolves. pretty kick a$$ too. Loved the sig by the way. Hoar has long been my favorite Realms deity. But i digress. |

I was wondering if PC's can get a different 'feel' or impression from a different Uthgart-stribe. How to roleplay this? They will meet the Black Lions en work with them a lot. But do they get another 'feel' form the Sky Ponies when hey meet them? Are the Balck Lions more 'reasonable'? The Black Ravens are a more stereotypical tribe that abhores all civilisation and really look down upon it: I can really roleplay 'contempt'. do you have experience with roleplaying them or just have some ideas? |

I was wondering if PC's can get a different 'feel' or impression from a different Uthgart-stribe. How to roleplay this? I would play the Sky ponys as very aloof. They're very nomadic so i wouldnt see them having too many attatchments or making any friends because chances are they would never see them again, so i would definatly see them as kinda stand-offish. They're big into mounted combats and pegasuses as well so theres a degree of nobleness in there too, maybe a little holier than thou kinda of attitude. the black lions are more used to dealing with outsiders and civilation in general so i would see them as more open and friendly. you definatly got the black ravens right. definatly blood thirsty and not friendly at all. the red tigers are very savage too but they have a sense of honor and are willing to accept outsiders if they prove themselves worthy. so yeah i would say each tribe should have thier own vibe. the black lions are definatly the ones the party should have more contact with being they're the most open. |
