With the death or what not of Eilistraee in 4e I was wondering.

I played a character that was very much a fervant worshipper of Eilistraee and was on a path of sorts.

He had some interesting abilities which could be basically summed up as a version of Chosen of Eilistraee.

Now is it possible he could still have said powers in the current 4e dynamics, even though his goddess is gone?

I know I have to redo this character, but worshipping Eilistraee was what he was all about, he had her holy symbol tattooed into his chest in enchanted silver inklike substance for goodness sake's.

I played this character for about 10 years and would still be playing him if my gaming group wasn't 300 miles away.

its your realms, she isnt dead or if you meant officially, well then I'd have to ask you to show me where it said she was dead.
from what of it I recall, it said she FEIGNED death and then you blink and her daddy appears.
I think she is an archfey

If you're going just by canon 4E Realms, Eilistraee is dead and gone.  Speculation about her survivng in some form as an archfey is really just speculation.  Any of her surviving worshippers, especially those who survived the final attack on the Promenade (warring with Lolth and Ghaunadaur worshippers), were taken into the fold of Corellon and now worship him or one of the other Seldarine in 4E.  Your character would have lost his Chosen abilities with Eilistraee's death.

That said, in the novel it isn't perfectly clear that she died, just that her mortal worshippers believed that she did.

If your character held a tiny portion of Eilistraee's divine essence (which is how I view Chosen of any deity), you could take this in a number of interesting ways.  Perhaps Eilistraee gave up her divinity, diminished into an archfey, and goes by a different name.  This could be a secret known only to Corellon and your character.  Having held a portion of Her essence, Corellon may have allowed your character to "keep" it while you changed over to worship him.  You could place your character on the "Chosen Path" (one of those epic destiny things in 4E) and build up your new abilities as a Chosen of Corellon and the keeper of Eilistraee's divine spark.  The diminished archfey that used to be Eilistraee, well... perhaps you are holding the Masked Lady's spark for a reason, so that the current archfey Lady might someday reclaim her divine power.  Lolth likes to play games, but so also do the rest of the Seldarine.

Or perhaps Eilistraee really did die, sacrificing herself as believed, and yet your character (and perhaps others as well) retained that tiny divine spark.  Reuniting them all might bring their goddess back to life.  And perhaps that was her (and Corellon's) plan all along.  Dead deities don't always stay dead, after all.

Or, you could have your character rigidly hold to worship of the dead goddess without changing his worship to Corellon or another deity, although that would put him at risk of being sucked into the Wall of the Faithless.  Perhaps Lolth is providing him with this Chosen energy, as she is known for giving power to those she wants to corrupt, and technically he is now a chosen of Lolth without knowing it.  And then he finds out...

I've got something similar in the works with the character Kaelen I originally played in 3.5. He survived the spellplague and all those events, and struggles onward without the purpose he once had as one of Eilistraee's Chosen. Whether or not she's truly dead remains to be seen, but though he lost most of his Chosen abilities, he may or may not retain a small spark of that power.
I'm exploring all this in my Darksong Chronicles stories, which I've been posting to my deviantart page (link in my sig). The second story in the series so far actually deals with the ruins of the Promenade, and I'll be posting that once it's finished.

I'm my 4E Realms game the faith of Eilistraee is embodied in a small core group of faithful, for which one of my players is running a character who is a member. That player's 3E character was a bigtime Eilistraee worshipper and the new character is a descendant of that first character.

Keeping it all in the family that way. ;)

Given how gods in the Realms tend to die and come back, having a character with powers like unto a Chosen of Eilistraee seems possible, though were I your DM I'd bend the adventures towards your character going through an apotheosis so you become Eilistraee once you reach and then go past level 30.

What's your DM think?

I don't wish to speculate on whether Eilistraee is actually dead or not, but it really shouldn't matter.

If you recall, Mystra is definitely dead, but her Chosen still appear to have most or all of their powers.  Therefore, it would be a reasonable extrapolation that Chosen of other dead deities also retain there powers.

Also, it shouldn't really be that difficult for a character worshipping Eilistraee to handle the changeover mechanically (although it would create some interesting RPing), because Eilistraee was already very close to the elven already.  It's quite likely that Corellon (or the other elven deities) would not significantly change the character's function and occupations.

On another note, while I know that technically Corellon Larethian subsumed Eilistraee's portfolios, Sehanine Moonbow is at least as appropriate as a substitute.

Storm lost most of her magic, and her singing voice. She can weave minor illusions still. She can still kick *** with a long sword.

The Simbul is just crazy, until El feeds her some sort of magic item. Then she regains her sanity for a time.

El still has all of his powers, yet when he uses them he goes a little bonkers. And only Storm can heal his mind when it happens. He does have a cashe of ancient magic that he aquired from Azuth, plus a spell he finds very tempting. It would let him exchange bodies with someone younger than he.

This is all taken from the 'Elminster must Die' sample in the back of Ed Greenwood Presents: Circle of Skulls.

And let's not forget that the various chosen of Mask at the end of the Twilight War trilogy retained their divinely-given powers (or divinely-stolen, in the case of Rivalen >_>)

well, the above answer gave to you to either consider Elistrae is not dead or she is dead but her divine sparkle still ive in you are perfectly fine. Now the question is how can you convert your character into 4E ? which class is he/she ? for exemple a warlock would be great to make a pact with Elistrae-the-archfey.
First, the fate of Elistrae is in the hand of the DM. If you can choose what happen to her, then the choise depend of your class and the relationship you had with your godess.
Has it would be difficult to imagine a priest without god (through still possible), an invoker worshipping the Seldharine and former Elistrae Choosen would be perfectly valid. So one part of the answer is in your character concept and how you will translate it
