Hello, it's me again. I need help so I made a thread.
Need info. about what was the cause of Crown Wars. They say that Crown Wars came older than the Netheril itself.

Umm... just a tiny bit before Netheril...

As to what caused it, that's easy... evil gold elf (redundant I know) aggression and greed directed at their peaceful neighbors. ;)

Indeed... so I suppose that those poor innocent Aryvandaarans (or however that's spelled) took their army for a walk and their neighbors just took it the wrong way? :P

aryvaandar,(mispelled) arrogant sun elves started it, they caused all kinds of atrocities through out all 5 of them.

during the meatings of the elven court, it was decided that the aryvandaar was to blame and their head clan was put to the sword.( rumors stat that 4 sons escaped)

also during this time the elven court stated that the ilthiri commited atrocities that made the former look tame, and do to high magic cursed them into becoming daerow(mispelled) which in turned became corrupted itno the word drow.

and to this date, betrayer still fits

what does it mean to be drow, it means fight dirty

Exactly! Finally a human's understood it! They just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time!

Umm... way, way, WAY before Netheril, actually.

Check out the 2e sourcebook Cormanthyr (I think it's available for free on the WotC downloads page), it has all the information you need.

-Which Crown War? There were five of them. Each one was sparked for a different reason.

-That said, information on the Crown Wars can primarily be found in Lost Empires of Faerûn, and Elves of Faerûn.

Elven Hubris.

Well, that's about the only reason that sparked every catastrophe in the Realms. And if it wasn't them, it was the gods.

Elves shouldn't be allowed to play with High magic.

Oh, I don't know. I think the Imaskari and Netherese have more than proven that humans are just as capable of screwing up on a truly awe-inspiring scope.

Maybe we should give magic to the gnomes...

oh heck no, if we gave magic to the gnomes, there would be gno magic

and all those contraptions of theirs would wreck havok over faerun.

btw i dont think it was over high magic

I love the Muppet Show (and Flanders and Swan).

Nah, they only destroyed themselves slowly. There were never such gaint catastrophes like the Dark Disaster or the Sundering.

Yup, good old Elven magic, and how it 'takes care of' nature. ;)

-Who says that Elven High Magic is intended to somehow 'take care of' nature? If you mean 'take care of' as in 'beat up', then you are partially correct. Rituals like The Killing Storm certainly aren't beneficial for nature.

Don't say things like that... it might give them ideas of what we're willing to take.

Gremlins are bad.. They could create a Spellplague, had they had spells.
