I just took this test. I was a little suprised by the results. I think it would be interesting to see what everyone else comes out as. This was brought up in another thread (actually 2) but i didnt want to turn them into a what class are you thread so i just made a new thread. So take the test and post your results. Im sure many of you have already taken it, but try it again. And answer honestly! No cheating!

This is what I got:

I just took the test. Got Rogue, which is awesome, since it's my favorite class (though I took the test legitimately, mind you). It's now resting in my sig with my Blue/Green orientation.

As noted before, Swordmage. Sometimes I get Bard. It's a really lousy test though, where the answers are blindingly obvious.

I refuse to use either banner because the art for both classes is so ****. That hideous Genasi chick(Would it have freaking killed them to use an Eladrin) and that stupidly ugly Tiefling bimbo are both god-awful.

Party Pooper! I didnt think the answers were that blindingly obvious. It would be pretty easy to take the test and give answers to steer towards the class you want, which is why i said no cheating! I was kinda hopin for swordmage myself, but i just answered the questions honestly and came out Artificer which suprised me I had alot of fighter answers and mage answers so i thought for sure it would be Swordmage.

Im a little surprised that Lord Manshoon is a Rogue? I thought for sure hed be a Wizard! Who knew!

But anyway we got a good adventuring party goin on so far. An Artificer, Paladin, Rogue, Ranger, Swordmage. Were gonna kick some A$$! And no duplicates yet. Thats cool. So whos gonna be tested next?

Well then I dont think its fixed. They do change up the questions everytime you take it though, so taking it again you might end up with a different result. Maybe you should try it again, and use best 2 out of three or something?

I think its more fun if you just answer the questions honestly, as you would answer them, not as your character would or what ever, and dont worry about what class you want to have.

So ok Fine sfdragon, Ill put you down as Ranger, even though i have my suspicions that you cheated!

#22

its fixed.

when I got to a point, it axed me ranged or melee.

I pick melee it sends me to rogue.

I dont do petty banditry.
I take range it sends me to ranger.

I dont tend to use alot of ranged weapons.( though Ive started to carry a light crossbow as well as a long bow)

Ahhh, yeah i got down to a 2 question one too, Im not sure what my other choice would of led to. Thats like a bonus question, I guess you were too close to ranger and rogue for it to be able to determine which you were, so you got one last question to settle it. So I guess in a sense youre a Hybrid class. They should add those in there, It would be cool if they update this test and put in the PHB3 classes and the Assassin.

Alright we got our Wizard!!!

Yes the answers can be obvious and you could easily steer it to get the class you want, but i think alot of people mix it up, like I picked a lot of fighter type answers and wizard type answers and ended up with Artificer.

Another wizard? and still no Cleric, what is it with Clerics any way? Everyone seems bummed if they got to be the Cleric like "Awww man i was Cleric last time!" Still I guess were good, Artificers have healing infusions.

So we now have

3 Rangers, 3 Avengers, 2 Rogues, 2 Wizards a Paladin, Swordmage, Warlock and an Artificer.

Hey, Clerics are my second favorite class. Why? Well, because they are a hybrid-class onto themselfs and that's cool. If you wanna play a character that holds his/her ground in melee and as a magic-user Cleric is a great choice, since the class's magic supports your melee efforts, in addition you can stand back and launch some really devastating spells. I love to be the playmaker, to fill all the gaps and keep my party going, to heal them, to be the first and the last line of defense. Clerics are the heart and soul of their parties. I guess thats why few claim to volunteer all the time to be the party's Cleric. It's quite a commitment and responsability to be Team Captain.

I agree. Im just saying most people seem to stay away from the Cleric. I like em, and Ive played many a Cleric, because I chose to not cause I was forced to. It seems most people think they just heal people and thats it. But theyve always had a decent to hit bonus, and in 4e they got  lots of real nice offensive powers.

And cool we now have a Druid in the party!

I guess what I said about Clerics proves true for all leader classes and look how many leaders we got thus far. Just one, and an Artificer's role identity doesn't seem to be as obvious as the Cleric's, at least not to me. Of all the leader classes Clerics have it the hardest to stray a little away from their role I believe, since its such a strongly themed class. Just to RP a Cleric is sometimes a little burdening due to the theme that threatens to overshine the person's personality.

I found it interesting that I was relegated to Ranger, because while I like nature, I really don't give a whit about the environment. I don't go out of my way to pollute, but I'm not making any special trips to the recyclers with carefully sorted garbage, and those compact flourescent lights suck. IRL, I think I'm more of a fighter or rogue, but I pick my fights carefully. I won't go toe-to-toe if fighting from a distance will give me a better chance at victory, and it's far better to get your opponent to defeat himself. I also recognize that sometimes the best way to deal with people is not to deal with them at all. I don't know. Maybe the questions pegged me as a hunter.

Isri Arellan, CG 'drow'(He uses high elf stats) cleric of Corellon Larethian. Nice guy, but has little patience for foolishness or beaurocracy and gets snippy around them.

Danien Kesar, CN human cleric of Olidammara. Smarmy, seedy, drunk half the time, a womanizer, a (bad) petty thief and an all around jerk. CHA was his dumpstat, turning undead is for people who actually care.

Kerazt Vareth, CN drow cleric of Vhaeraun, with evil tendencies. Prone to overblown, ridiculous plans for the simplest of things, as likely to gut you like a fish as look at you, though he might help you out instead, convinced that drow are the best, pissy that surface elves get accepted unquestioningly while he has to work his ass off to get even the slighest acceptance for his community of surface-dwelling drow.

Hey thats cheating! you cant be two classes! I think its more interesting if you take it just once and see what you come up with, instead of playing around with it to get the class you want. (lookin at you sfdragon)

but you had Barabarian first so I'm putting you down for that, and I dont think anyones got Barbarian yet so that works, although Barbarian/Cleric is an interesting combo, but if I let you have 2 classes then everybody else will want 2 classes.

So we've had alot of people come in since I checked last, we're gettin a good sized adventuring group goin on now. Look out Shades here we come! so as it stands now we have: 3 Rangers, 3 Avengers, 2 Rogues, 2 Wizards, 2 Warlocks, 2 Paladins a Cleric, Bard, Druid, Barbarian, Warlord, Shaman, Swordmage, and an Artificer.

to those who like clerics SORRY.
Of cource no one wants a cleric in 4e !SUCKS!. their power has been significantly reduced.  They are pathetic at melee/range and a shaman (guardian) can heal more than a cleric. And don't even mention turning undead.  OMG way powered down.

3e clerics have the most options and when built right can do massive damage and healing.

I find the warlock to be quite refreshing.  I thought the same thing when I first saw the class.  Then I looked at the powers and a shadowy red dragonborn was quickly put together.  I chose the Infernal pact and due to things that has happened in game and his history I am actually creating a Heritage feat for him.  Infernal heritage.  Anyone wanna check it out and give helpful suggestion.  Look under homebrew section.

I dissagree.  the cleric is actually a hindrance in the group I'm playing.  The person playing a cleric is good at it too.

I've recently started playing a shaman and took the multi-class feat for cleric.  I was origionally DM the campaine but cleric (my GF) took over so I could play a character.  She still plays the cleric as an important NPC.  And another cleric the battle cleric usually misses and gets hurt alot too.  I find the cleric to be underpowered even with the new stuff from divine power.. though it is a significant increase.  I'm no fan of the cleric either, in any eddition and only played one of the sun/healing domains.

The Cleric debate rages on! They do seem less focused on healing in 4e, dependin on what build you go with. I think theyre still pretty kick a$$ regardless what edition youre talkin about. The last time my group got together to game, I ended up throwing a Shade at the party, The Cleric of the group really saved the day with those Radiant powers, If it wasnt for the Cleric I dont think the party would of made it, granted that a situational thing there but i think alot of the classes work like that, some are better than others depending what the situation is.

Hmm, though i've done this before, i'll repeat what I am.

The Swordmage banner is retarded because it uses that stupid-ass Genasi woman who's uglier than Shar's crotch hair, and then the quote is about training 'under the leaves of Myth Drannor', which: lawl elves training a Genasi no; and lawl Myth Drannor is the name of the city not the ****ing forest. Confidence is often a good substitute for raw charisma.  I'd wager a confident priest, drunkard though he may be, could seem attractive and even quite powerful to others who burry themselves in their cups.

Hmm, through which attribute gets "confidence" expressed from your point of view? Wisdom? I never looked at it this way but it sounds interesting. For me "confidence" translates into "force of personality" which would be charisma driven. With charisma I didn't necessarily mean "charm".

Hmm, through which attribute gets "confidence" expressed from your point of view? Wisdom? I never looked at it this way but it sounds interesting. For me "confidence" translates into "force of personality" which would be charisma driven. With charisma I didn't necessarily mean "charm".

  Good question.

For me confidence is something that has always had a split-personality (for me) as far as character attributes are concerned.

I agree in that force of personality could easily be translated into the charisma attribute, because mighty Paladins, clerics and great warlords would draw upon such to lead and rally great armies against impossible foes.

On the other hand, there are also characters of all classes who don't have great charisma scores but are willing to do things that other non-adventurers are not.  Such characters are often fearless (synonymous with foolhardy and careless; we're talking adventurers after all ) and dedicated to a cause or set of ideals and so become noteworthy for their actions, which leads others to want to follow them or at least take head of their words and ideas.

It's tricky because the game mechanics are there to simulate and streamline "real life", whereas good roleplayers and a willing DM can use the mechanics as a guideline but still let players move past them by delving deeply into social roleplaying opposite a large host of NPCs of all types.

In the later scenario, it could easily be the lowly fighter with an 8 charisma (and not his majestic high-charisma Paladin, Cleric and/or Warlord companions) who commands the attention and loyalty of the city guard and its watch captains, because it was the fighter who grew up with and was conscripted along with many of the local villagers that form the city guard's ranks, who fought with them to defend the city from marauding orcs and worse in the past, who only recently joined the adventuring group he's a part of now and has since always urged his adventuring companions to "let the watch take these ruffians we've captured and administer the local lord's justice" because he retains an open loyalty to his former comrades in arms.

The fighter's simple loyalty, then, commands more respect from a large group than a high charisma score on another character would earn.

I like this later style of play, because it encourages players to see past their ability scores and to learn to work with their "lesser in certain abilities" companions to get things accomplished during play.

My apologies for the long post, but I like this sort of topic.

This I aggree with.  It's dependent on the situation.  But my shaman is a far better healer than the cleric.  This is all I'm saying.  And I won't bring it up anymore since this is not a place to debate clerics LOL.

And for those of you who keep taking it over.  Why? I say have fun with what cha got.

You can bring it up again if you wish, things ussually get off topic fairly fast around here, and it is a class discussion so its not too far off topic.

And as for people taking the test over again, I know! cheaters! I didnt yell at Delta though cause I wanted to see the Swordmage banner anyway and the guy who said he got Swordmage refused to post it (I dont think shes that bad lookin). And any way Delta did keep to his origianl Warlock choice.

IRL, confidence is entirely related to success.  The more successful we are in life, the more confident we are.  For most PCs, confidence would come with leveling.  For NPCs, success in their primary trade.

Foolhardiness and bravado are really very different from actual confidence, IMO.

Well perhaps you don't socialize with the same kind of human beings as I do. One of my realizations I had during my life thus far is, that in fact confidence is completely unrelated to success. I have met a lot of people which had a tremendous amount of confidence into their unpresent abilities. On the other hand I learned to know a lot of people with many great traits and abilities with absolutely no confidence.

Well I might misunderstand you, but from what you are writting I got the impression that you are actually speaking about "courage". In the game mechanics being couragous or valorous gets expressed through the wisdom attribute what I deem to be fitting. I believe this isn't the same as confidence. Being confident lets you show up strong in a social encounter where no real dangers have to be overcome, if you have to muster "courage" to approach a woman for instance, you loose, even if you are able to muster a lot. It just will be perceived that you are afraid, why else would you need to muster up courage? And since there is no real reason to be afraid you will be rebuffed. On the other hand if there is a real thread and you do manage to act toward neutralizing the danger, others will not only not care if you have been afraid no, on the contrary they will even hold you in higher esteem if they recognized that you had been afraid but acted anyway.

You Know nothing of D&D in general? Its only been around for like 35 years! The game is simple, Its like a Movie, and the Dungeon Master is like the director, the players are all characters, but they dont have scripts so ussualy they dont know whats going on. The DM sets the scene and the players decide what their characters are doing, You roll dice and add any bonuses you have to the roll to determine success or failure on various tasks such as combat, looking for traps, picking up chicks and/or guys at the bar or what have you.

Im not real familiar with WoW, so Im not sure how Shamans are in it. Druids are all about nature and balance, in 4th edition D&D  they focus more on shapeshifting into animals.

Yup one of those pen and paper stuff-things. I have alot of friends who are into WoW and other MMO games. They constantly try to get me into it but i prefer the old pen and paper style. I call it real life D&D, even though were not dressing up and everything, I just feel more of a camaraderie when were all in the same room playing some D&D, nothing against online games, just my own preference.

I was just curious what everyone else would come out as, It came up in another thread but i didnt want to turn that thread into a what class are you thread so this one was born. Also discussions have sprung up about classes and whether or not clerics suck. So its a just for fun sort of thread. Anyways, something about clerics still keeps me from playing one... don't know what it is... I wouldn't play one in 3-3.5 and I still won't now...

And we're supposed to just take your word for it? Fine I'll let it slide this one time. I just hope more people dont start sayin oh it said im a (insert favorite class here). I want to see the little picture and quote with it too. I guess I could just mess around with it until I get all the classes, but seeing what everyone else comes up as is far more fun and interesting.
