I just realized though would the lords of Waterdeep arrest the characters and send them back to Cormyr if the Princess asked the lords of Waterdeep? What about if I send them somewhere else? |
| #2frbrazilOct 31, 2008 12:12:47 | It all depends on what kind of crime they were convicted of. I doubt Waterdeep would extradite low-rank thieves, because there're more important things to care about --but the Masked Lords of Waterdeep would promptly send back home those who betrayed or planned against Obarskyr family as soon as they were discovered hiding in Waterdeep, whenever asked to do so. In other hand, Sembians would happily agree to offer a safe hide to those working against the ruling family of Cormyr. Personally, whatever the case is, I wouldn't flee this far-off. I would simply cross the border, heading to Sembia. |

| #5old_sageOct 31, 2008 19:04:44 | I actually think Ed Greenwood answered a similar question over on Candlekeep. Maybe the Sage can pull the answer for you. There's actually scattered references, as I recall. Unfortunately I don't have the time to search for them all now. Dave, I'd recommend a thorough search of the "So Saith Ed" archives over at Candlekeep. See my sig. |

| #7davesaundersNov 02, 2008 12:44:50 | -Well, let's make a list here...Well, before that, what era are we using, here? I am talking about the edition 3 FR. |
| #8lord_karsusNov 02, 2008 21:14:39 | -Alright, so...Well, might as well do both, so there's more info. A good topic for a new thread, both of them. I'm not going to start it/them, but if you go on ahead and start it, I'll contribute where I can. I have enough with too many projects as it is. ;) |
| #9bodaNov 06, 2008 6:33:19 | Politics. I guess it all depends on what contries are involved and what crimes in question. Per example, Lords alliance members have similar views of law and politics, ...so that shouldnt be a problem. But if cultures are significantly different, then that a all new ballgame. Someone wanted for illegally freeing slaves in calimshan would not be viewed in waterdeep as a thief (as it would in calimshan). |
| #1018DELTANov 06, 2008 10:33:07 | -I would either have the PC's hide in Sembia or Westgate. Westgate has a couple of Exiled Noble Families there that could chose to Hide the Accused for a price. Then when Cormyr tries to get the Offenders Have the Fire Knives get into the action. Thanks for the Idea. :lightbulb :evillaugh 18DELTA (Enjoying the Strife that is Cyric!) ![]() |
| #11maulornNov 06, 2008 16:54:12 | The Illithid community gets along well with everyone. |
| #12old_sageNov 06, 2008 17:42:06 | Indeed. The mind flayers are an equal-opportunity enslaver-nation. :D |
| #13maulornNov 06, 2008 17:45:49 | Indeed. The mind flayers are an equal-opportunity enslaver-nation. :D The Illithid think-tank needs some good brains to come together for some innovative and exciting opportunities. They are also going to be doing a raffle. The tickets are 10gp a piece...and if your the lucky winner you receive a tadpool. |

| #15markustay63Nov 08, 2008 16:41:10 | As funny as that sounds, it's actually canonically accurate. The Illithids are the ONLY Spelljamming race NOT at war with anyone. That doesn't mean they like other intellignet species... except as perhaps a tastey snack. Although certainly NOT trusted, they carry on amicable trade with everyone - even the Neogi - which is a feat unto itself. That means if ANY other race wants to conduct business with the Neogi, they are better off trying to use the Illithids as go-betweens first (which is a frightening concept - having to deal with Mind-Flayers because the alternative is worse). And, of course, they eat brains when no-one is looking. They even have a 'farm' where the keep Beholders just for their "Big Juicy Brains". I kid you not. ![]() |
| #16old_sageNov 08, 2008 18:27:51 | The Illithiad makes a pretty convincing case for how well the mind flayers get along with everyone else:- "All that is not Illithid, is thrall." |
| #17maulornNov 10, 2008 8:41:31 | As funny as that sounds, it's actually canonically accurate. Duergar, Derro, Githyanki, Githzerai lol but even their once slaves know they are fupups and don't mess with them to harshly. |
