| #1merrikcaleJun 25, 2008 8:49:25 | Simple question: What paragon paths would you like to see in the upcoming FR Players Guide. Bladesinger and Battlerager are obvious. Red Wizard. What others? |
| #2GreenKnightJun 25, 2008 8:56:51 | I already mentioned Purple Dragon Knight, Harper, Hathran, and Spellfire Channeler in another thread. Maybe War Wizard, too. Can't think of anything else right now. |
| #3valgardJun 25, 2008 8:59:06 | Well, the problem comes when determining what survives the Spellplague. Let me guess: Bladesinger Battlerager (Red Wizard?) Zhentarim Spy Netherese Shadow Mage (more suitable with shadow power source?) Purple Dragon Knight War Wizard of Cormyr (with Swordmage origin?) Harper Agent Wychlaran (Do they survive?) Knight of Myth Drannor With the new material originated by the Spellplague: Master of elements (more suitable with elemental power source?) Spellmarked (sp?) master Well, I'm not able to think anymore. |
| #4nymrohdJun 25, 2008 9:59:38 | They can reasonably devise a paragon path that feats multiple classes so War Wizard of Cormyr could match both wizards and swordmages. I seriously do not understand why the harpers need a paragon path as I never got why they needed prestige classes. They do not offer special training and their agents are disparate. What they have is the blessings and they can be done in multiple ways. Thing is paragon paths are simpler to make and balance than prestige classes, so we may likely end up with many of them. |
| #5suin_bahhar_02Jun 25, 2008 10:20:31 | Shadowthief Teflamm Shadowmasters Runescarred Berserker Talonan Blightlord Elven Highmage Magehound Feywild Scout |
| #6markustay63Jun 25, 2008 10:42:01 | Sun-dried Tomato So I can eventually look like all those old folks down in Florida.... |
| #7nymrohdJun 25, 2008 11:25:21 | Elven High mages are bound to end up as an epic destiny. Part of me wishes they had never done such an excellent and evocative job with the fluff at Elves of Cormanthor. They simply have set us up for dissappointment again and again cause the crunch can never live up to them and be even superficially balanced. |
| #8rinonalyrna_fathomlinJun 25, 2008 11:57:05 | I want more general paragon paths and epic destinies for the core setting. That there were only four EDs in the PHB was tremendously disappointing for me. |
| #9merrikcaleJun 25, 2008 12:00:42 | I want more general paragon paths and epic destinies for the core setting. That there were only four EDs in the PHB was tremendously disappointing for me. Those will come with the Power books, such as Martial Power. I can assume Divine Power and Arcane Power are coming soon |
| #10GreenKnightJun 25, 2008 12:03:11 | I hear Martial Power will give the Ranger his Animal Companion back. Hopefully Divine Power will give the Paladin his Special Mount back. I want my dire lion, damn it! :P Just hope Divine Power comes out soon. Although with just the two divine classes so far, I'm not optimistic on that score (Martial Power was an easy choice for them, as they've already released pretty much all the Martial classes they're going to release. There may be a Martial Controller, but I doubt it. Besides, how could you possibly make a Martial Controller, because making it some kind of Artificer type? Well, the Artificer comes out next month on DDI, so we'll see if it's A) a Controller, and B) if it's even Martial). |

| #12GreenKnightJun 25, 2008 12:19:44 | Remember, a Controller has to do the same job as a Wizard. I.E. Hurt a large number of enemies as well as hinder them in some way. Of course, only having one Controller class to look at, who knows how far that role can be stretched. But given that the other classes mentioned for the Controller role (like Sorcerer) work like the Wizard, I doubt it's possible to make any Martial Controller. As I said, pretty much the only way I can envisage a Martial Controller is if it were an Artificer of some type. And something like that delves WAY to far into the area of steampunk and stuff. |
| #13merrikcaleJun 25, 2008 12:20:52 | Remember, a Controller has to do the same job as a Wizard. I.E. Hurt a large number of enemies as well as hinder them in some way. Of course, only having one Controller class to look at, who knows how far that role can be stretched. But given that the other classes mentioned for the Controller role (like Sorcerer), apparently don't work all that differently, I doubt it's possible to make any Martial Controller. I suppose a swashbuckler or skirmisher could engage through speed several enemies at once |
| #14GreenKnightJun 25, 2008 12:23:33 | Not the sheer number of enemies that you can affect with a Wizard, or all the varying conditions you can lay on them. Besides, we already got a Swashbuckler with the Rogue. |
| #15DiffanJun 25, 2008 12:26:21 | I wouldn't mind seeing.... Thayan Knight Cavalier (done right this time) frenzied berserker shadow adept bear warrior blackguard and assassin Plus divine channeling feats reguarding different deities like in the PH |
| #16phelf_der_zemitJun 25, 2008 12:29:03 | Telfamn(Sp?) Shadowlord and a new one for Amauntor, somesuch like... Amauntor Sunblazer Oh and one for lolth obviously. and lastly.. Changeland Guide |
| #17GreenKnightJun 25, 2008 12:30:01 | Speaking of assassins, I think it'd be sweet if the Assassin class made a comeback. It'd make for a great Shadow Striker. |
| #18naexJun 25, 2008 12:43:04 | Jhaamdathan bladelord. Naturally. But I know that will never happen in a book (won't even be possible before ph2). But if they are exposing the ruins and psionics are core... |
| #19naexJun 25, 2008 12:46:40 | Oh, and Plaguescarred (Spellscarred?) Wizard. Use the power of a plaguescar to enhance your magic. |
| #20rinonalyrna_fathomlinJun 25, 2008 12:51:31 | Those will come with the Power books, such as Martial Power. I can assume Divine Power and Arcane Power are coming soon Well, I hope so! I'll probably pick those books up. ![]() |
| #21forseJun 25, 2008 13:01:10 | What's an Artificer? I've read about it before, but can't remember what it's about. |
| #22naexJun 25, 2008 13:04:16 | What's an Artificer? I've read about it before, but can't remember what it's about. An artificer is a creator of magic items. Made a class in Eberron. Don't see the need now, since magic item creation comes down to a single ritual. However they did have the ability to use items better than normal, so maybe on that basis. Sort of like the Artifact Master epic destiny they had in a preview for 4e. |
| #23DiffanJun 25, 2008 13:05:03 | In 3.x for the Eberron setting they were master craftsmen who made stuff. They got bonuses to creating magical items and constructs and what-not. They has something like a spell called infusions but they took much longer to impliment in battle but lasted loads longer. I remember in my wife's campaign my cleric/ordained champion of Tyr and one other party member were holding a door closed against some huge monster and we had to hold it off like 5 rounds so our artificer could infuse me and the other guy with an infusion that worked like Bull's Strength. It seems like a fun class and I do wonder how or if they're going to impliment it in 4E. |
| #24naexJun 25, 2008 13:06:10 | In fact... would be a good one for wizards, maybe they can as a daily abilty use a wand or staff power as an encounter power or use the daily power an extra time every day. Hmmm.... And of course get a bonus to Arcana for Enchant Item ritual |
| #25lord_karsusJun 25, 2008 15:10:12 | -Anything that's a setting specific PrC. |
| #26merrikcaleJun 25, 2008 15:16:44 | do we call Paragon Paths "PP"? |
| #27lord_karsusJun 25, 2008 15:20:12 | -Um...Yes. |
| #28merrikcaleJun 25, 2008 21:15:14 | Well, I hope so! I'll probably pick those books up. Well, they have announced that Arcane Power is coming out in April 09, a month after the Player's handbook 2 |
| #29valgardJun 26, 2008 2:26:47 | Speaking of assassins, I think it'd be sweet if the Assassin class made a comeback. It'd make for a great Shadow Striker. Talking about iconic prestige classes, what about arcane archer, dwarven defender, loremaster, blackguard (Diffan mentioned it), mystic theurge, dragon disciple? |
| #30BadCatManJun 26, 2008 8:29:30 | Martial Controller: Maybe it could be a warrior who insults the enemies, or scares them, a demoralizer? Or maybe a reach weapon battlefield controller ala the spiked chain masters of 3.5? I'd like to see a Sage, the classic know-it-all of the Realms. It's probably the same as Loremaster though. And anything that's backwards-compatible with the Classic Realms. |
| #31merrikcaleJun 26, 2008 8:30:40 | Talking about iconic prestige classes, what about arcane archer, dwarven defender, loremaster, blackguard (Diffan mentioned it), mystic theurge, dragon disciple? Yeah but i would love the assassin base class |
| #32valgardJun 26, 2008 8:45:31 | I don't care if they are paragon paths or base classes... Can I play (with madness :D )? Arcane Archer: Arcane Striker/Controller Hybrid or Paragon Path for elves. Assassin: Shadow Striker or Paragon Path for rogues. Blackguard: Shadow Defender or Paragon Path for paladins. Dragon Disciple*: Primal Striker or Paragon Path for sorcerers. Dwarven Defender: Paragon Path for dwarves. Loremaster: Arcane Leader or Paragon Path for wizards. Mystic Theurge: Divine Controller (or Arcane Leader ;) ?). * Don't expect to see this, with the dragonborn they have an excuse to not release it. ![]() |
| #33dethmetalJun 26, 2008 8:47:16 | I suppose a swashbuckler or skirmisher could engage through speed several enemies at once or maybe a good re-thinking of the monk class... ever seen Kung-fu-hustle...imagine the guy with the long staff keeping all of the enimies at bay and knocking a few out at the same time. |
| #34merrikcaleJun 26, 2008 8:48:23 | or maybe a good re-thinking of the monk class... ever seen Kung-fu-hustle...imagine the guy with the long staff keeping all of the enimies at bay and knocking a few out at the same time. not bad |
| #35valgardJun 26, 2008 8:56:37 | or maybe a good re-thinking of the monk class... ever seen Kung-fu-hustle...imagine the guy with the long staff keeping all of the enimies at bay and knocking a few out at the same time. What a great film! How did I laugh! :D Well, I think there's a difference between a martial artist (eegh! bad name) and a swashbuckler, not concerning fighting style, but all the other. Monks would have a great improve if they not only rely on unarmed combat (though I expect them to have it), but their utilities and some of their attacks should be based on Wisdom, while a Swashbuckler's utilities should be based on Intelligence (it will probably be a paragon path for rogues ).And let's not talk about skills. |
| #36rinonalyrna_fathomlinJun 26, 2008 9:54:48 | Well, they have announced that Arcane Power is coming out in April 09, a month after the Player's handbook 2 Great! "PP", . |
| #37ody_saraph_of_karsusJun 26, 2008 10:02:55 | Great! What's so funny? ![]() anyways no *ahem* "PPs" for me ;) |
| #38merrikcaleJun 26, 2008 10:11:32 | "PP". Thats funny |
| #39lord_karsusJun 26, 2008 17:22:12 | -Now, I hate to be the one to ask, but are PPs going to have long progressions? And, does taking an "Epic Destiny" towards the end of taking a Paragon Path cut the end tip of the PP off? |
| #40merrikcaleJun 26, 2008 17:32:28 | -Now, I hate to be the one to ask, but are PPs going to have long progressions? I don't know about you but mine sure does |
| #41nymrohdJun 26, 2008 17:37:55 | -Now, I hate to be the one to ask, but are PPs going to have long progressions? And, does taking an "Epic Destiny" towards the end of taking a Paragon Path cut the end tip of the PP off? A Paragon Path is effectively a number of special features gained at 11 and 16 plus 3 powers (one encounter, one daily, one utility). An Epic Destiny gives class features at level 21, 24, 30 and a utility power. They do not interact in any way. |
| #42lord_karsusJun 26, 2008 17:40:43 | A Paragon Path is effectively a number of special features gained at 11 and 16 plus 3 powers (one encounter, one daily, one utility). -So, what you are saying is that PPs don't have to worry about ED. Very good. ![]() |

| #45DiffanJun 27, 2008 8:15:36 | Hey all, Here's my first shot at creating a Paragon Path for 4th. It's still in rough draft phase, so nothing set in stone. I need your opinions on balancing issues as well as flavor. Here it goes- CAVALIER “For the glory of battle, Charge!” Prerequisite: Fighter class or Paladin class, Mounted Combat Feat, proficiency with military weapons You represent the ultimate in combat warfare. Your charge is among the most devastating weapons any culture can hope to field. Often you command from your steed in open battle against your enemies and charge first into the fray with valor and steel. Your combat skills rely heavily on mobility, harrying your opponents with quick passes through their lines to scatter their defense. When room restricts your movement, you charge into their ranks and hack at them from your mighty mount, giving you an advantage against lower adversaries. CAVALIER PATH FEATURES Mounted Weapon Bonus (11th level): You gain a +2 bonus on attack and damage rolls when using a polearm or heavy blade while mounted. Cavalier’s Action (11th level): When you spend an action point to make an additional attack and if your mounted, your mount can also make a basic melee attack against an adjacent opponent to you. Cavalier’s Bond (16th level): When you are mounted, you cannot be immobilized and you and your mount receive a +1 bonus to saving throws. CAVALIER POWERS Ride-by-Attack; Cavalier Attack 11 You ride into the thicket of your enemies, attacking as you pass through. Encounter * Martial, Weapon Standard Action; Melee weapon Requirement: You must be mounted. Target: One creature Attack: Strength vs. AC Hit: 2[W] + Strength modifier damage Effect: Your mount may take a standard action as an immediate reaction. Healing Bond; Cavalier Utility 12 The healing you receive flows through your body and your mount gains health through the bond you share. Encounter * Divine, Healing Requirement: You must be mounted. Immediate Reaction; Melee touch Trigger: You spend a healing surge Effect: Your mount regains hit points as as if it had spent a healing surge. Unstoppable Charge; Cavalier Attack 20 You charge into the ranks of your enemy with such valor and force that nothing can stand in your way. Daily * Martial, Reliable, Weapon Standard Action; Melee Weapon Requirement: You must be mounted. Special: Move your speed as part of Unstoppable Charge Target: One creature Attack: Strength vs. AC Hit: 3[W] + Strength modifier damage, and you knock the target prone. Effect: You make a secondary attack against the target and shift 2 squares. Secondary Attack: Strength vs. AC Hit: 2[W] + Strength modifier damage. Tell me what you guys think, thanks! |
| #46rinonalyrna_fathomlinJun 27, 2008 9:13:42 | I like it.![]() |
| #47nymrohdJun 27, 2008 9:22:52 | Well you can improve on the game syntax a bit. And your utility power looks more like a class feature. |
| #48nymrohdJun 27, 2008 9:51:14 | Hey all, Nice concept but maybe: Ride-by-Attack; Cavalier Attack 11 Encounter * Martial, Weapon Standard Action; Melee weapon Requirement: You must be mounted. Target: One creature Attack: Strength vs. AC Hit: 2[W] + Strength modifier damage Effect: Your mount may take a standard action as an immediate reaction. Healing Bond; Cavalier Utility 12 Encounter * Divine, Healing Requirement: You must be mounted. Immediate Reaction; Melee touch Trigger:You spend a healing surge Effect: Your mount regains hit points as as if it had spent a healing surge. and Unstoppable Charge; Cavalier Attack 20 Daily * Martial, Reliable, Weapon Standard Action; Melee Weapon Requirement: You must be mounted. |
| #49merrikcaleJun 27, 2008 9:52:59 | Diffan, perhaps we should have a thread with your paragon paths or maybe you should put the Cavalier in its own thread so people can find it quickly very nice work |
| #50nymrohdJun 27, 2008 13:16:53 | He still is a bit overpowered. And what I feel is most problematic is that he feels more like a striker than a defender. Though the prone effects help. |
| #51lord_karsusJun 27, 2008 13:26:00 | Diffan, perhaps we should have a thread with your paragon paths -Probably. A good idea, a thread to show everyone your PP. -Ugh, once I start, I can't stop. |
| #52nymrohdJun 27, 2008 13:31:59 | This PP business is going to cause much lament. |
| #53lord_karsusJun 27, 2008 13:35:18 | This PP business is going to cause much lament. -I will do my best to perpetuate PP jokes as long as possible. :D |
| #54ody_saraph_of_karsusJun 27, 2008 13:35:24 | It depends what kind of PP we're talking about, y'know how BIG it is or witch path is it going.... |
| #55nymrohdJun 27, 2008 13:39:44 | But ofc master infiltrator PP ody. . . or pathfinder ofc. |
| #56ody_saraph_of_karsusJun 27, 2008 13:42:07 | Ah I heard that's a nice pp if you have some sort of lube in case she gets in a tight situation and need to escape... |
| #57rinonalyrna_fathomlinJun 27, 2008 13:53:19 | Wonderful. ![]() |
| #58ody_saraph_of_karsusJun 27, 2008 14:54:15 | Wonderful. I know! I never go adventuring w/o lube and my "Dagger" (+5 merciful ) ;) |

| #60ody_saraph_of_karsusJun 27, 2008 15:56:44 | man o man, I thought I was juvenile Well you still are if it makes you feel better :D |
| #61merrikcaleJun 27, 2008 15:57:37 | maybe a little |
| #62nymrohdJun 27, 2008 15:58:16 | Better we cover all the PP-related humor now than have it haunts us in the future. |
| #63lord_karsusJun 27, 2008 19:15:04 | -Apparently, PP related humor is my specialty. I'm a pirate captain, or some such... -Anyway, from seeing Diffan's example, these Paragon Paths don't particularly impress me. They seem more like substitution levels, than Prestige Classes. |
| #64DiffanJun 27, 2008 20:06:22 | -Thanks for the feed back. He still is a bit overpowered. And what I feel is most problematic is that he feels more like a striker than a defender. Though the prone effects help. Overpowered in what way? Also, he could easily stand in the way of enemies and hack at them from on top of his mount thus making him a good defender. -Anyway, from seeing Diffan's example, these Paragon Paths don't particularly impress me. They seem more like substitution levels, than Prestige Classes. I don't think the intention was to deviate much from the base class as Prestige Classes definitly did. It keeps the general feel of the base class with added abilities that fit the "flavor" of the character you want to play. The fact that they all fit into a particular format adds to the paragon path's balance between all classes as well. |

| #71GreenKnightJun 28, 2008 17:57:46 | You get a Paragon Path at 11th level and an Epic Destiny at 21st level. |
| #72merrikcaleJun 28, 2008 18:01:13 | You get a Paragon Path at 11th level and an Epic Destiny at 21st level. I'm not sure I like the 11th level deal. I was found getting a PrC around 7/8th level area to be the best spot. |
| #73naexJun 28, 2008 18:10:29 | I'm not sure I like the 11th level deal. I was found getting a PrC around 7/8th level area to be the best spot. The idea was to spread out the playable levels though. Liken it to school, you go to High school (heroic tier), college (paragon tier) and then graduate school (epic tier). They aren't substitution levels, just added bonuses you get for specialization of skills. You can also choose another classes powers if you want instead of PP to make more of a multiclass character. |
| #74lord_karsusJun 29, 2008 0:10:43 | -"PPs (Paragon Paths) don't have to worry about ED (Epic Destinies)"...Man, that was a classic. |

| #90naexJun 30, 2008 19:23:54 | They will probably not turn evil PrCs into Paragon Paths, they are trying to push the characters as good guys idea, and, as in the monster manual, bad guys don't get classes, just a description of their role and stats and powers. So Zhents and Red Wizards may not get PrPs. |
| #91lord_karsusJun 30, 2008 21:34:45 | So Zhents and Red Wizards may not get PrPs. -They probably will, just because of who they are. |
| #92merrikcaleJun 30, 2008 21:37:50 | I would think at least the Red Wizards would |
| #93nymrohdJul 01, 2008 2:58:05 | Red Wizards? The orders should now be completely defunct. There are a few scattered Red Wizards on the Wizard's Coast who may still have some control of their enclaves or not but they are hardly the force they used to be. |

| #95lord_karsusJul 01, 2008 10:29:40 | Red Wizards? The orders should now be completely defunct. There are a few scattered Red Wizards on the Wizard's Coast who may still have some control of their enclaves or not but they are hardly the force they used to be. -That's doesn't really resemble what the preview article alluded to. If anything, Thay- and by proxy, the Red Wizards- is more powerful than every with Szass Tam as the sole ruler. |
| #96nymrohdJul 01, 2008 11:25:08 | I meant the Red Wizards as a prestige class. The new Thay is not likely to continue on the traditions of Zulkirs and schools (especially since schools are defunct). So no need for a PrP. They are just wizards or necromancers in Thay these days. |

| #98nymrohdJul 01, 2008 11:33:52 | Well the Red Wizards are evil so they are antagonists so they are NPCs so they do not need PrPs. They are custom crafted by the DM. |
| #99merrikcaleJul 01, 2008 15:18:12 | Well the Red Wizards are evil so they are antagonists so they are NPCs so they do not need PrPs. They are custom crafted by the DM. What about evil campaigns? |
| #100markustay63Jul 01, 2008 15:21:22 | I want an 'Epic Chef' path, so I can cook for the gods. Or maybe a 'Batwatch' Path, so I can swim like Aquaman and save lives in a cute red speedo. ;) :P |
| #101lord_karsusJul 01, 2008 15:21:30 | What about evil campaigns? -The 4e books, like the 3e books. give you the ability to play evil campaigns, but say, as an afterthought, "Oh, yeah, you should always be a good guy." |
| #102merrikcaleJul 01, 2008 15:25:24 | -The 4e books, like the 3e books. give you the ability to play evil campaigns, but say, as an afterthought, "Oh, yeah, you should always be a good guy." Thats all well and good, but they will put "evil" PPs out there for that purpose as well for the DM's NPC needs |
| #103lord_karsusJul 01, 2008 15:28:45 | -Evil PPs...Uh oh... |
| #104ody_saraph_of_karsusJul 01, 2008 15:33:05 | -Evil PPs...Uh oh... ![]() |
| #105naexJul 01, 2008 16:33:32 | -The 4e books, like the 3e books. give you the ability to play evil campaigns, but say, as an afterthought, "Oh, yeah, you should always be a good guy." Actually 4e player's handbook, is very geared towards good campaigns, or unaligned at most. They say as much in the DMG in the npc portion, how to change cleric and paladin prayers to reflect evil gods more. This may, and will probably, change as new books are released. But for the moment, they are pushing the be a hero aspect of the game. For example, no necromancy spells, and few summoning spells. So no bringing undead or demons to the battle by the players yet. And they are very clear that npcs are created like monsters, not characters. This doesn't mean you can't, only that it serves no real purpose to build a character just to give the players someone to chase and kill. Give them the abilities they need for an encounter with the players and that is the most you have to do. I like this, it's not like you actually roleplay the day to day life of your villains and need to know what noncombat powers they have. |
| #106nymrohdJul 01, 2008 16:50:31 | So people which PrPs would you like to see? I've given the bladesinger and the silverstar a shot so far, and I am taking requests (It's fun making these, especially the powers;) ) |
| #107merrikcaleJul 01, 2008 16:53:48 | So people which PrPs would you like to see? I've given the bladesinger and the silverstar a shot so far, and I am taking requests How about the Peereless Archer? |
| #108nymrohdJul 01, 2008 16:56:39 | How about the Peereless Archer? Nah the Battlefield Archer is in the PHB and very decent, no need for another one. |
| #109naexJul 01, 2008 16:57:34 | Paragon paths from the various thieves guilds and wizards guilds |
| #110merrikcaleJul 01, 2008 16:59:14 | Nah the Battlefield Archer is in the PHB and very decent, no need for another one. Didn't know. Fair enough How about the Windwalker |
| #111nymrohdJul 01, 2008 17:00:53 | Didn't know. Fair enough That was Shaundakul's specialty priest? 4E takes a very dim view of mobility (and the windwalker was way OP to begin with). I could give it a try but it would be quite dissimilar. |
| #112merrikcaleJul 01, 2008 17:02:13 | That was Shaundakul's specialty priest? yup. You are confusing me with these 2 threads now ![]() |
| #113nymrohdJul 01, 2008 18:01:14 | Hehe no, I was just directing people's attention. I made the sniper btw. I will think on the windwalker. |
| #114merrikcaleJul 01, 2008 18:36:06 | Hehe no, I was just directing people's attention. I made the sniper btw. I will think on the windwalker. How about the Hunter of the Dead, I know its not FR specific but.... |
| #115nymrohdJul 01, 2008 18:49:45 | I was considering the Doomguide already (I like Kelemvor a lot). But I need to sleep, so tomorrow. |
| #116merrikcaleJul 01, 2008 18:59:45 | I was considering the Doomguide already (I like Kelemvor a lot). But I need to sleep, so tomorrow. sleep? now? this is an outrage! |
| #117merrikcaleJul 02, 2008 8:18:55 | I was considering the Doomguide already (I like Kelemvor a lot). But I need to sleep, so tomorrow. Here is your assigment for PPs Nightcloak Doomguide Court Herald Vengance Knight Knight Errant of Silverymoon Spellguard of Silverymoon Sunmaster Morninglord Runecaster Magehound Black Blood Hunter Black Blood Cultist Spur Lord Hathran Harper Scout Knight of the Blue Moon I expect these by the end of the day |
| #118lord_karsusJul 02, 2008 10:26:03 | -Whoa... |
| #119merrikcaleJul 02, 2008 10:30:40 | -Whoa... too much ya think? |
| #120nymrohdJul 02, 2008 10:39:32 | Most of the PrCs he asks for are from evil deities (which I won't do, though I guess we could make NPC clerics with similar abilities) or belong to deities or organizations that are most likely defunct now. And I never got why Silverymoon or Waterdeep or Cormyr had special classes for their knights and mages. They do not teach anything special and unique to them lorewise. |
| #121nymrohdJul 02, 2008 10:41:26 | Plus I made a project of Elven High Magic rituals. I am surpised how combining the rules for ritual casting and skill challenges is shaping up to make the rituals far more interesting than they ever were as epic spells in 3E. |
| #122lord_karsusJul 02, 2008 10:55:15 | -What's there to be interesting about? You meditate, you might hook up with some buddies, you cast a spell, boom, it happens. |
| #123nymrohdJul 02, 2008 11:55:07 | Well if you combine the two rulesets you end up with an interactive ritual were multiple characters have to make skill checks and you need (as with all skill challenges) to get a certain number of successes before getting a certain number of misses. This way you can determine the effect of high magic rituals according to how well they were cast. And whenever you get a miss you have to pay with extra healing surges, or expend arcane powers. It can become very interesting to possibly use midcombat. As in the EHM in your group joins a circle and begins a ritual while the rest of the party must face the monsters that are trying to overrun them. . . |
| #124merrikcaleJul 03, 2008 11:56:48 | so where are my PPs |
| #125nymrohdJul 03, 2008 12:32:59 | If I recover from the horror of the Amn article maybe I will make something for FR. Till then I think I'll migrate my creativity to Eberron. |
| #126merrikcaleJul 03, 2008 12:35:56 | If I recover from the horror of the Amn article maybe I will make something for FR. Till then I think I'll migrate my creativity to Eberron. what Amn article? |
| #127GreenKnightJul 03, 2008 12:39:39 | Here. |

| #129nymrohdJul 03, 2008 12:48:03 | the horror, the horror |
| #130merrikcaleJul 03, 2008 12:48:45 | well we know Waukeen survives and the Monsters in Murann |
| #131lord_karsusJul 03, 2008 13:09:59 | -Didn't read it. Anyone care to provide highlights on MT's 4e FAQ thread? |
| #132merrikcaleJul 03, 2008 23:55:18 | -Didn't read it. Anyone care to provide highlights on MT's 4e FAQ thread? did you read it yet? |
| #133lord_karsusJul 03, 2008 23:59:18 | did you read it yet? -Yeah, I read the text that Delta copied and provided. |
| #134merrikcaleJul 06, 2008 12:05:26 | I'm still waiting for the Vengance Knight |
| #135lord_karsusJul 06, 2008 15:09:05 | I'm still waiting for the Vengance Knight -I know a character waiting to kill a Vengeance Knight, so close enough. |
| #136merrikcaleJul 06, 2008 18:10:48 | -I know a character waiting to kill a Vengeance Knight, so close enough. would that be Crazy Ali |
| #137DiffanJul 06, 2008 19:19:25 | If I recover from the horror of the Amn article maybe I will make something for FR. Till then I think I'll migrate my creativity to Eberron. why not make it for non-specific setting and we can adapt it anyway or setting we want? I mean, i'm sure anyone can place Bladesingers in Eberron or even a harper-ish organization as well. |
| #138lord_karsusJul 06, 2008 21:00:59 | would that be Crazy Ali -No, though he would by proxy. why not make it for non-specific setting and we can adapt it anyway or setting we want? I mean, i'm sure anyone can place Bladesingers in Eberron or even a harper-ish organization as well. -Thats, supposedly, what people do. |
| #139merrikcaleAug 05, 2008 21:09:10 | any more? |
| #140lord_karsusAug 05, 2008 23:12:49 | -Don't know, but I'll be moving this thread. I already thought I put this one in, but... |
