Anyone excited?

However, the following developments seem to be part of it: 1) The Cult of the Dragon and the Red Wizards of Thay form a (likely temporary) pact 2) The Zhentarim oppose them (creating an uneasy, likely temporary alliance with the heroes) 3) Tiamat becomes more associated with the Realms 4) We'll get initial 5e attention paid to: the Cult of the Dragon, the Red Wizards of Thay, Tiamat, multiple evil dragons and the Zhentarim
I'm looking forward to it for the following reasons: a) It's tightly integrated with the release of 5e b) It's tightly integrated with the new miniature line c) The campaign will be strongly supported with public play events (especially the "D&D Adventurers League") d) My current campaign has developed strong associations with both the Zhentarim and the Cult of the Dragon e) Hopefully the campaign will be integrated tightly with the D&D attack wing game. Thus, major aerial battles between bood/evil dragons (ala dragon lance) might be in store for the Realms |
