#1 Stoyrm May 19, 2008 6:22:13	I'm just posting a quick question What is the last news about the year which 4th ed starts in? Did they really fast forward 100 years? Can't seem to find anything. Thank you on beforehand.

#4 markustay63 May 19, 2008 9:11:28	Depending on how you look at it - The campaign has been moved forward 104 years from the 'current' year, but only 94 years from the official end of 3e in the GHotR (1385). Etheir way, the new date is 1479 DR. Do we have an exact year for the Orc King prologue?

From what I recall, the text doesn't mention an actual date, all it says is that the events in the prologue take place 100 years after the events in the bulk of the novel (which is probably 1372 DR--the RAS books are a bit behind on the official timeline).

Not sure if i liked that move, but i guess things can happen . -AGHotR skips forward to 1385, as the current date is 1375, but the official 4e setting will go above and beyond that.
#10 zaeshir May 20, 2008 15:19:58	I seem to be one of the few in favor of the time jump, but then again I think that's largely because I'm *so* behind on my novel reading that I'd rather have the slate wiped clean. I harbor no ill will towards those who don't like it. I fully understand

How does it make a difference? The old novels are still canon. And, many of them are actually good reads.
