| #1Khelben7May 11, 2009 5:37:11 | A question. I need udeas for the impact on the spell casters/ prayers etc effect from when the Gods walked on Toril during the Times of Trouble. I thought of maybe all spells and payers go unanswered the first day. The time until they return to their place, the spells etc will be of lessor effect if the follower are a long way from the geographical location of the Deity. If they're close the effect will be that much stronger. How does that sound? I couldn't find any rules for it.. -Khelben |

Might try to google it, or Ebay it... maybe even look on Amazon to see if the novels are available, as most of the information in the modules is probably lifted from extrapolating information from the novels in the first place. |

| #4markustay63May 11, 2009 13:31:50 | Those tables are reproduced in FRA (2106), but I do recall an even more comprehensive one somewhere. ![]() When the gods walked Toril... ... they left REALLY big footprints? :P |
| #5Khelben7May 11, 2009 17:46:11 | I've been a d&d fan since somewhere in the 80s. I have alot of Forgotten Realms books n boxes stored away. I just always thought that they transferred all the important info to the newer versions... Well, I have been out of the hobby for almost a decade so memory about these things were at best pretty vague. Thx for the Shadowdale Chart. I found that as well. I also recovered the Old Tome of Magic, which has an extensive Wild Magic Table - some 100 different results (d100). I might make a combination of the two. But there's no description of the effect of having the Gods close 'at hand'. The Shadowdale Adventure says that the Table given by Lord Karsus is used ever since The Storm, which I guess is the arrival of the Gods to Toril. But what happens with Magic Users spells when Mystra is slain by Helm? -Khelben |
| #6lord_karsusMay 11, 2009 20:46:08 | -When the deities were "cast down", there was a big ol' storm, yes. As for how magic would work after Mystra was killed by Helm, at the end of Shadowdale, I would simply use the same chart. Wild Magic is Wild Magic. |
| #7Khelben7May 20, 2009 5:47:56 | I've researched the history of ToT and it spands over a couple of months. That is a long time in actual gaming-time where the Magic and Prayers are unstable. Anyone got an idea for this? Maybe a test of Religion/Arcana before using the power or a Will save....? -Khelben |
