Where'd Helm and Midnight go?

I might be mistaken, but after ascending to godhood didn't Midnight ressurect Mystra? Shouldn't she still be alive and able to manage the weave if Mystra was killed?

And where's Helm? You, know the first one to kill Mystra? His name appears no where that I've seen anywhere in the player's guide or camp set for FR. I may have just missed it though; no apologies from WotC yet on the abohrently incomplete or mysteriously absent Index's.

Midnight/Mystra was killed by Cyric and Helm was killed by Tyr in a duel.

Whoa seriously? Which book was that in, I want to read it (Helm/Tyr) And did you mean that Cyric killed both Midnight and Mystra or that Midnight and Mystra were considered the same god in 4th.

They were the same god in 2E and 3E.

There was no novel that this happened in though. It was mentioned in the
4E campaign book.

What page? and if they were the same god why does the third ed player's guide to faerun mention clerics of midnight having different domains from clerics of mystra? Mystra clerics don't get the Spell domain for example.

The Tyr/Helm incident can also be found in The Grand History of the Realms.

-When Midnight ascended to divinity, at the end of Waterdeep, and became the deity of magic, she became Mystra. That is, her sentience, and the knowledge and experiences of Mystra merged. The same way that the sentience of the original Mystra merged with the knowledge and experiences of Mystryl.

I have a theory about what novel if any Midnight will die in.. It might be one of the Empheryan Oddsey books. The series that has the alu-fiend from war of the spider queen in it. Afterall the other WoTSQ spin off, The Lady Penitent series, had plenty of god death. Even if Midnight doesn't die in that series I wouldn't be suprised if other gods died. After all, Cyric has summoned to one of the upper planes and I doubt it was so he could relax.

-It was mentioned that the events within those books will have a great impact on the planar structure of Realmspace, so anything is possible.

Don't recall any differentiation of domains between Mystra and Midnight... can't think of anything along those lines I've seen anywhere in print beyond saying that Midnight was taking the name of Mystra and that she was allowing older holy symbols to stand in older temples, and that no-longer eligible clerics due to alignment difference would be allowed to maintain their status as clerics, but that new clerics would have to conform to the new alignments associated with the new Mystra.

Any word when the next book in the series sees print? I kinda liked the story, and if its a setup for something grandiose in the planar realms of Fearun it might explain the folding of the shadowplane and negative energy, the collapse of the wheel/tree or the spellplagues effects on the divine domains. Still am enthousiastic for planar lore.

-I think the second book is out...

The Fractured Sky? A quick internet search told me it'll be out in November.

Great news! Thanks for the effort. I just started on Frostfell though, so I'll let the Fractured Sky lay on the shelves for a few.

Hmm could this be about the treachery Cyric has planned that leads to a betrayal of friends i.e. Tyr vs Helm? i.e. Homerian Divine Soapera?
Or the one where a single betrayal slips the Realms into turmoil?

Could be. We'll know when the book comes out.

the Fractured Sky has that RSE ring to it, nay?

Well, we've already heard that the Spellplague will be involved with these books, so yes, I'd say there will be RSEs involved.

-All in all, I find that the way WotC handled this book (and the Twilight War finale, but to a lesser degree) a little puzzling. If the last book does indeed cover the Spellplague, and the cosmology of the setting shifting, it would have made sense to release the final book of the series around the same time as the FRCG/FRPG, not at least a year after it.

The Banite character I found intriguing, and the Gossammer Plain introduced Khaanyr Vhok and Alisza for me whom I liked aswell.

I was still a bit confused about how Alisza could transplant herself into her child who got saved and raised in the Celestial Realms. Tauran was part of an organisation on Tyr's home domain dedicated to saving and redeeming unborn deviant children? Whom they can raise to adulthood in mere weeks of time on Torils prime?

Are Torils unborn souls saved by servants of the good gods? Do they succeed or even attempt that for every child's soul?

Show
-The character wasn't a Banite.

-While 99% of this was poetic license, the entire afterlife, with concerns to the Wall, and children/unborn is all facocta.

I just learned a new word!

I just learned a new word!

-Ah, but can you use it in context?

I found the depiction promising in a way but dissapointing aswell. The order Tauran was part of only saves children of fiendish parents, for what reason?

-To redeem them, apparently. Note, that it'd make sense for other "orders" to attempt to redeem other races, such as Devils, or Yugoloth, or whatever else.

Time on the heavens and the astral goes in odd ways, but temporal oddities in stories still irk me. So staying on the Fugue plane for a few years amounts to only a few days going by on Toril?

-Apparently so.

Helm was killed by Tyr in a duel.

...

No matter how many times I read that, I never stop being absolutly bewildered.

Don't understand how Aliisza could transplant herself into her child.
Tyr/Mystra/Helm issue is perfectly clear to me, though I preferred Helm to Tyr.
