Dec 25, 2008 14:08:34 Only thing that I have seen is the 'Plague of Spells' by Bruce R. Cordell, but I thought that there was some other info regarding the whole murder by Cyric, fall of Elminster etc. I have the Campaign Sourcebook for FR, but thats pretty superficial information..

Of course, they go back on just about everything, so I'fd take that with a grain of salt.

Ed Greenwood would surprise me if he didn't follow up on this with a masterpiece like the 'Cormyr, a novel' or the Shadow Avatar series or the Shandril tales... Usually I like surprises but..

Its probably better that way.

It would allow them to skip over details about specifics of who died when and how, leaving it open for the future. And for any DMs to put their own spin on it.

I know excactly what you mean, but I do love the ficion that has always been part of the FR universe and I've been a fan since somewhere in the 80s..

Thx Lord Karsus. Can you give me a brief description of the books and how much the Spellplague is involved in them?

Dec 26, 2008 15:43:29 -I've only read The Gossamer Plain, the first novel in the Empyrian Odyssey trilogy. From what I know, Plague of Spells takes place in 1,390 DR, and features the Spellplague (and it's byproducts) heavily. The other two trilogies, the Spellplague (and it's byproducts) are mentioned, as well as the hows and whys, but they aren't the main focus.

Jan 05, 2009 14:59:11 Just finished reading Plague of Spells and it was really illuminating on the spellplague. One chapter described the occurance, and another chapter talked about plaguewrought lands. While not complete information, surely was something to visualize.

Jan 05, 2009 22:52:44 -I was planning on picking up that book today, but I got sick, so all of that is going to have to wait for a little bit. When I do pick it up, and finish it, I will have an LK's Novel Review for it, though.
