Grand History of the Realms has information on them in the chronology, but thats mostly it. And i know that Serpent Kingdoms has info about the Sarruhk but not the others. |
| #2keverasOct 31, 2008 12:45:00 | Sarrukh, Batrachi, Aearee (three distinct subraces), and the Fey creator race (which probably includes the leShay, afaik, according to the latest Moonshaes article). And, of course, the humans. Edit: Information can be found in one or two of the Candlekeep Compendiums. Can't remember exactly in which one. |
| #3markustay63Oct 31, 2008 15:27:24 | The Elvish List includes Dragons and omits the Aearee, but the official one is the one Keveras describes. |
| #4old_sageOct 31, 2008 18:48:09 | Edit: Both are by Gray Richardson -- "Mysteries of the Creator Races: The Batrachi," Volume III, and "Mysteries of the Creator Races: The Aearee," Volume VII. See my sig for the link to the downloads page at Candlekeep for the Compendium. |
| #5old_sageOct 31, 2008 18:55:43 | The Elvish List includes Dragons and omits the Aearee, but the official one is the one Keveras describes. I usually include the aearee, since we've plenty of sources to make this connection -- Serpent Kingdoms, The Savage Frontier, Dragons of Faerûn [in the "Wyrms of the North" section] and references in Lords of Darkness [1e] and Powers & Pantheons as well. |
| #6lord_karsusNov 01, 2008 12:00:24 | -Yes, if you delve into the topic, you'll see that there are different lists. Some include Dragons, some include Humans... -The official list of the 'exotic' Creator Races is:

| #8lord_karsusNov 01, 2008 12:28:43 | -Humans. They're not exotic, though. That's why I specifically mentioned 'exotic'. ;) :P |
| #9davesaundersNov 02, 2008 12:47:35 | Two questions: 1 There is only a lot of information about the Sarrukh and not the others right? 2 What are the Candlekeep Compendiums? |
| #10old_sageNov 02, 2008 16:59:58 | 1 - Serpent Kingdoms is the main source on *some* of the Creator Races, like the sarrukh. FR5 The Savage Frontier and REF3 Lords of Darkness feature general information on the Creator Races as a concept. Serpent Kingdoms, FR5 The Savage Frontier, Dragons of Faerûn [in the "Wyrms of the North" section], REF3 Lords of Darkness, Powers & Pantheons, "Mysteries of the Creator Races: The Aearee," Candlekeep Compendium Volume VII, as well for aearee sources. Candlekeep Compendium "Mysteries of the Creator Races: The Batrachi," Volume III for the batrachi. Grand History of the Realms is also an important source for the Creator Races. 2 - See my earlier post here. |
| #1118DELTANov 02, 2008 17:22:31 | 2 What are the Candlekeep Compendiums? -www.candlekeep.com/compendiumThere are currently 10 issuses of Fan made FR Lore. They are great reading. 18DELTA ![]() |
| #12old_sageNov 02, 2008 18:07:42 | Actually, there are only 9 Volumes of the Candlekeep Compendium. Volume X, the next to be released, is still in production. |

| #17old_sageNov 06, 2008 17:53:50 | Are those official> They're as close to official as fan-made FR material can come. Some articles references particular canon facts/events from the Realms, and strictly adhere to them. While others may tend to deviate just a little and introduce new elements that aren't directly connected with canon. And, of course, some of the articles/works, like Brian's detailing of Katashaka, have found a place in canon FR lore [in Grand History of the Realms. |
