Since many of the nations in all continents had been established long time ago, I think at least there should be clashes between nations of different continent, such as war or conquests between nations of Faerun and Maztica, or deities of Faerun meet with deities of Kara-Tur. :D |

It drove deeper and deeper striking deals and destruction through Thay, and eventually into the Dalelands Zhents, Orcs, Countrymen came together under Azoun's leadership in war against the Horde. Azoun who killed Yamun the Tuigan leader and things drifted back into fighting over what was left of their homelands. Maztica has trade ties in cities up and down the coast. Trade wars and spies are a constantly taking place some times under the table or behind a closed door. Some of the Djinn and Ogre Mage rulers struck bargains over vast oceans and small wars keep things alive and dead. And silent.... I like the concept of cultural changes as one travels from one end to another. It would be intresting to see some of the humanoids lore and customs of those regions. Colony, forts, distant forgotten trade routes run by experts, grande distant empires. silent violent distant wars that can truly effect things everywhere on a large scale with use of magic |

Anyone remember that godgame with animal avatars and influence bubbles, its a bit like that. So yes its interesting to send a party on a missionairy to the far east or west, as your diety literarely sees through your eyes how the new area fares. |

The importation of Maztican, Zakharan, and Kara-Turan goods by Aurora's...Maztican mercenaries in Amn...Kara-Turan traders and expatriates in eastern Faerûn...Zakharan corsairs in the southern seas... |

Semphar was tachnically a vassal-state to Mulhorand before the Tuigan took it over, and that country borders Kara-Tur and trades with it extensively. Plus several powers now have colonies in Maztica - Amn, Waterdeep, Baldur's gate, and I believe Tethyr has sent a fleet or two that way as well. People from Kara-Tur have migrated to Maztica on at least two canon occasions. The fairly new Tuigan nation of Yaïmmunahar's capital is named Kourmira, in homage to Cormyr, and it's king who defeated the Tuigan. The people of the Utter east - the Mar - get their culture from further east and south, in the Kara-Tur region known as Malatra. Also, if you read the GHotR Scouring of the Utter east sidebar, you will see that their is some sort of ancient connection between Zakhara and the Ue (which IS part of Faerûn), and the Ue was invaded and 'cleansed by armies from there. Another entry in the GHotR states that T'u Lung has attempted to open up diplomatic relations with Mulhorand recently, and Shou Lung has a large population of displaced citizens in the Unapproachable East AND an embasy in Elversult (of all places!) There is quite a bit of inter-action if you know where to look - the Empires of the Sands products by Steven Schend even alluded to the original Dgen migration as coming to Calimshan from Zakhara, and lets not forget the Bedine of Anauroch... Then again, maybe we should.... ![]() |

| #9merrikcaleJun 12, 2008 21:29:08 | I sure hope we get some more Kara-Tur |
| #10magodeskyJun 12, 2008 21:57:08 | That's actually one thing I always liked about Forgotten Realms. It's huge enough to feel like an actual world. This isn't something like World of WarCraft where you can circumnavigate the globe in about a half hour. Just like our own planet during the Middle Ages, contact with people on the other side of the world is rather limited. Although it would be pretty cool to see some more stuff set in regions outside of Faerun. |
| #11lord_karsusJun 12, 2008 23:07:53 | I sure hope we get some more Kara-Tur -In an official capacity, I wouldn't bet on it. The extra-Faerûnian regions were canned due to lack of interest a bunch of years ago, so don't expect anything to change. That's actually one thing I always liked about Forgotten Realms. Perhaps Kara-Tur could be the setting |

| #14merrikcaleJun 27, 2008 20:50:03 | - You know why, I'm sure. actually, I don't think I do |
| #15lord_karsusJun 27, 2008 21:25:55 | -The fact that they can take something I like, and possibly "ruin" it for me. That's why. |
| #16nymrohdJun 28, 2008 3:15:03 | Still I'd prefer a new OA to be focused on Kara-tur than some random setting a 3rd party company is covering far more extensively . . . The Watercourse trilogy can give you a good example of the inroads the East has in western mercantile society in Faerun. |

Isn't horrible that I think that way now? ![]() |
