Worshipping in Returned Abeir

Apr 26, 2011 16:01:13		I am planning start a campaign in Returned Abeir and ws wondering a few things about what people in Abeir usually worshipped. We know of course that deities have no influence on this world and this is probably why in the FRCG it is said that about the people from Returned Abeir : "Organized religion in Returned Abeir (faiths, simple shrines, and traveling clergy) is something new; even the concept of gods who answer prayers is still alien to many..."

We also can read if the FRPG in the dragonborn entry that : "Since Abeir was without divine influence, at least in a way that most people of Toril understand, dragonborn regard the gods and their servants with suspicion..."

This last sentence lets suppose that there was some kind of non-divine influence then. Does it mean that on Abeir, primordials are some kind of "deities"? Are they worshiped in some way?

The first sentence I quoted makes certain that there is no divine power source on Abeir, but what of the primal power source? Nothing I can read is really clear about that? Would it be common to find druids or shamans on Abeir and per se on Returned Abeir?

I know that know some deities have turned their influence of Returned Abeir, but bascially the people there have to have some belifs of their own, even if many among them were slaves of dragons.

Apr 27, 2011 13:29:52 		Good question, Abeir is a natural world, or at the very least a copy of one, so it would make sense for there to be nature/primal spirits there, this is of course just speculation on my part, might be a good question for Ed over on Candlekeep. And it could be that the Primordials on Abeir were worshipped very much like gods, some of them stayed behind on Toril and were worshipped as gods, such as Kossuth.

Considering the origin of the split, i would say most definitely.
