May 31, 2008 0:10:51 Has anyone here ever read the Eric L. Boyd article "The World Serpent Inn" from Dragon issue# 351? There was a bit about a lesser known Realmsian personage by the name of Mellomir of Arabel, an archmage/seer with a knack for predicting important events on Toril including the deaths of Bhaal and Myrkul, the reappearance of the Ring of Winter, the invasion by Iakhovas, and the return of Shade among others. But there was also this blurb:

"In recent years, the Seer of Arabel has largely abandoned the city for the familiar confines of the World Serpent Inn...many suspect that Mellomir has foreseen some great cataclysm that will soon unfold on his native world, which he seeks to avoid by residing within the World Serpent Inn. Mellomir's willingness to hire adventurers to recover artifacts of Faerunian construction lost on other planes adds credence to his theory."

I had always wondered what the author might had been alluding to, but with recent events perhaps I now have my answer. Now this issue came out in January of 2007--could this had been early hint of things to come for the setting? I bring this up now because it's only until now that I remember reading this. And yeah...I know it hardly matters at this point anyway, but I just thought it would be amusing to speculate on it all the same. No bitterness here, just wanted to see what you folks thought.:D
