Eh, Hi. What's your favorite magic item you have wielded in a realms campaign?

Mine was a Flametongue greatsword wielded by Thuran Silverforge my first 3.5 character [fighter 2/ rogue 5/ streetfighter 1]. Very cool opening move was to quickdraw that beatiful blade and scorching ray anyone that was left flatfooted. Took out most of my opponents after a feint in a single fiery blow.

I love burst weapons because I am blessed by the dice gods :D

-I don't do games, but my favorite magical item in the Forgotten Realms has probably got to be the mythallar. Asides for the keeping Netherese enclaves aloft part, the subset of magicical artifice that it created (quasimagical items) is an amazing idea. I've used the concept in my own setting.

My personal favs are moonblades and Demron's baneblades, especially Keryvian.

Demron;s Baneblades, and my own longsword named Star Furry, which was a +4 everbright holy, flaming, freezing, corrosive, and shocking longsword.

and being it was a pre plague weapon.......

carry the right tool for the right job or carry a big stick...

Never got my hands on a Staff of Thunder and Lightning but I would love to wield one of those. Got plenty of chuckles from seeing a Rod of Wonder used by a wildmage though...

I think the elven moonblades are not eligable in this because they are not intended to be PC items. The Baneblades I like because of their specific racial abilities. The hin one and the arcane one are pretty powerful in my book but they all have their place.

What are quasimagical items? Any examples?

-See Netheril: Empire of Magic, which can be downloaded for free from the WotC website, in the 'Downloads' section.

Thanks! They are a pretty nifty sort of items indeed. Nice to have for a city based campaign as it is an incentive for players to stay near the magical source of their items.

-Forget players, or a D&D game, or any of that: The concept is an amazing one in terms of world-building. Me, KtM, Zsych, and one or three other people, back in the day, always bemoaned the fact that so little was done on the concept, in N:EoM. In my world, I took the concept and ran with it, mixing in a few dashes of Incarnum (soul energy is what 'powers' the mythallar), and came up with some awesome stuff, in terms of how they can influence a society.

Cheap magic items for the masses and their effects on domestic life and such? You ever got to writing some of that down?

In FR lore?
- Moonblades
- Mythals
- Weaveshear
- EDIT: Demron's Baneblades, too. I'm a tad embarassed I forgot.
To name a few.

That my characters have wielded?
I'm still not sure as to my favorites. But I have a special place in my heart for my first FR character, a half-drow Rogue, and his +4 corrosive short sword, Bitter End. Doesn't sound very impressive, but the memories I have with that character and that weapon are quite pleasant. Incidentally, my first 4E character is a half-drow Rogue. Completely different person, completely different concept envisioned, but he has a couple of traits which are a nod to my first.

Weapons:
The Sandstorm (A Great Axe) = An axe that supposedly sprays sand everytime you jingle it or move it...PLus the sand blinds people except the user...I think it was created by some Shaman in the Anauroch desert.

Paraphernalias:
Wands....they're small and cool...plus female wizards can make good use of it on their private time...and I kinda liked the idea of Jarlaxle's hat that creates a portal

Uber Items:
Cyric's book, the Cyrinishad....lol, where else can you find a book that doesn't let you stop reading it? Plus granted proper usage, it could become a great torture tool.

From what I have wielded, a crystalline mirror-like khopesh, it allowed me to learn specific ''book of nine swords'' techniques. Kinda like a legacy item, but with different rules. Also had a graft composed of pure force, replacing the spine that allowed muscle and nerve control similar to that in Dune novels.

Official FR items, can't even start to pick. All those tomes, elixirs, chardalyns, and dukar implants are fun.

Of the big ones, the Wyrmskull Throne, Crenshinibon, Ring of Winter, Cyrinishad, Imaskarcanas, Beacon of Light, Highfire Crown, Tree of Souls, Accumulator ...

Not FR, the IOUN stones.
