| #1clevernameFeb 22, 2011 11:10:54 | I imagine I am in a similar position as a lot of GW GMs. I am the one that has purchased all the gaming matierals. No stores within 50 miles are carrying the boosters, so I too have purchased a lot of the cards online. I do not have a full set of cards, but about 45 of them. So, while I am okay with just handing out the Omega tech as I see fit, I would like my PCs to have their own decks of Alpha mutations to personalize thier characters. My group is just not going to sit down a read every card. What I did for my first game is had out 5 cards to each of them and told them they could discard two cards into a pile, face up, that everyone could then re-draw from. This worked pretty well as I coached them on looking at overcharge bonuses and characteristic mods to make a selection. Still this took a little while. I have considered doing this MtG draft style as well, but that would take even longer. What are you doing? |

(I would let them have their own decks, just so we're clear, they just presently do not.) Any type of forced draw (from the GM's deck, etc) would then come from a randomly determined deck. |

My idea is to put all the common, uncommon and 2 of the Gm decks up for play in Pc decks. So all rare and one of the gm decks will be part of a GM mega deck, along with all cards not taken into player decks. We will not be playing with the cards RAW. I have some different guidlines for building decks; |

That's a pretty good aproach. One thing you could do is let it evolve, organically. Put all you cards together in a DM deck, and have players draw alpha mutations. When they get one that seems to fit their character, that they really like, tell them to hold onto it. Once they get 7 or more such cards, they have a deck. |
