Feb 09, 2011 20:35:55 I've really enjoyed the rules by some other gamers for customizing weapons in Gamma World (see community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758... and roll.critical-hits.com/2011/01/19/hey-ga...).

Inspired by their work, I've written some armor templates to allow for a bit of customization beyond just choosing light or heavy armor. Each template includes a simple benefit and drawback to reflect the unique nature of the armor. For example:

Archaic

Considered ancient even by the Ancients, your armor of plate and chain is extra durable but a pain to move around in.

Requirement: Heavy armor

Benefit: Gain a +1 bonus to AC.

Drawback: Take a -1 penalty to Reflex.

Tin Foil

Hand crafted from rolls of tin foil harvested from the ruins of the Ancients, your armor protects your thoughts from anyone trying to get inside your head.

Benefit: Gain resist 5 psychic.

Drawback: Gain vulnerable 5 electricity.

Feb 10, 2011 23:08:30 Thanks! I'm glad you guys are enjoying the idea. Wulv, putting together a pdf sounds like a good idea; I might be able to post that sometime next week. I might even add a couple more ideas to it.
