#1 cazra Feb 04, 2011 11:32:13	In my DnD campaigns, I've used soundtracks from RPGs such as Final Fantasy and Chrono Cross as background music during sessions. I'm currently trying to compile a playlist library for my Gamma World game. Most of the tracks from SquareEnix games don't seem to fit the theme of GW very well. What kind of music would you recommend for this?
#2 miniaturegeek Feb 04, 2011 11:36:14	Hmmm, that's a good question, depends on how serious/wacky your game is.  I would say techno would be a good place to start looking.  The Mortal Kombat Annihilation Soundtrack has some good tunes. Rammstein would also probably be a good bet.
#3 cazra Feb 04, 2011 11:47:46	my game is definitely the wacky type of Gamma World, though with a lot of awesome action scenes. It is wacky on the level that the tarrasque is a collosal-sized fat orange cat rampaging across southern US, and the Knights of Genetic Purity behave similarly to the Knights Who Say Ni!.
#4 FlashbackJon Feb 04, 2011 12:18:09	E.S. Posthumus always works.  The new TRON score is pretty good too, depending on how much tech your wasteland has.

The Sword, Warp Riders Mass Effect 1 & 2 soundtracks
#6 hoffnung Feb 04, 2011 18:54:04	Due to the lethality of the game, may I suggest some MegaDeth or Slayer.  I know it's not a soundtrack, but it works for me.

#8 ChaoticGood Feb 05, 2011 0:16:14	There's a LOT of 80s New Wave that would work well as a Gamma World background. I'd also look for some space rock for the sci-fi ambience. There are also quite a few Jonathan Coulton tracks, like "The Future Soon," "Todd the T-1000," and "Chiron Beta Prime" that would be fun to drop in to your soundtrack as well.

#10 ChaoticGood Feb 05, 2011 0:29:48	Oh yeah ... that was one of the originals. My introduction to the space rock genre was braveSaintSaturn, which was (oddly enough) one of several side projects by members of the Christian ska-punk band Five Iron Frenzy. Yes, I have very strange tastes in music.

#12 hughborg Feb 05, 2011 11:02:58	Try out Abney Park. Especially "Post-Apocalyptic Punk", "Airship Pirates", "Stigmata Martyr", and "Black Day".  They have a pretty good Post-Apoc / Steampunk / Gothic feel.
