| #1jeffeshNov 19, 2010 23:10:17 | Has anyone has converted version 1 or 2 creatures to be compatible with 4e? If so can you give 3e any guidlines to get me started. Thanks |
| #2jubjubbirdNov 20, 2010 7:02:41 | I wouldn't convert them to set guidelines. The systems are so far apart, that makes things just more difficult. Instead I would look at the 1st/2nd ed. creature and build them from scratch using the same "theme" using 4e monster creation rules. |

I'd advise looking through the 1e monsters, and finding a monster in 4e that's similar. There's no Pineto, for instance, but there's a Kai Lin. Both are mobile plants. Use the similar monster as a vague starting point to see how that general sort of monster (mobile plant) is done in 4e. Then choose a level and build it using the guidelines in D&D 4e (since GW doesn't really provide monster-creation guidelines). The Pineto, for instance, is fairly innocuous, so could be reasonably low-level. I have the urge to convert 1e monsters... maybe over the holiday weekened, I can get on my DM's Monster Builder and try a few. |
