I just started an auction on eBay for the Trouble in Freesboro adventure. The starting price is a moderate $9.99.

why don't you just give it to some one who shows you they want to run GW. that's what i did. and he now runs a game or two. share the love.

I was planning to bid, but that $8.00 for shipping is a bit steep.  Cry

Anyone with Trouble in Freesboro and a big heart wants to pass it on to a GW veteran of 2nd edition and DMing father of 2 mutants 9 and 16, I'll pay postage to Melbourne Australia and run it for the kids and anyone else who'll play at our FLGS.

May the ancient dvds you scavenge be scratch-free and canned food not poisoned (1d6hp /round, save ends.)

EDIT: Ew. Just read about this thing being sold on ebay for megabucks.
Feel free to disregard my post, far be it for me to stop people making crazy silly money from a gameday promo. Sheesh.

Guess it's time to dig the old edition modules out from under the house and fire up Masterplan. Whoohoo!

Someday I hope WotC will see the wisdom of offering gamesday and encounters adventurers as PDFs or retail product sometime after the event.  Unless they consider having the option to hawk the things on eBay is "payment" for running the event (or being buddies with a store owner who hands off extras) keeping them unavailable except to people willing to drop big bucks just feels wrong.  Its not like Freesboro was some incredible epic anyway: It was amusing and all but really nothing stunning.

Note that I have no issue with people who do sell them or whatnot: Power (and cash) to you.  I just am irritated the company has set the system up in a way that this happens.

I prefer to ship via Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation, which leaves a couple of bucks for packaging/handling costs (unless I am missing something - I don't ship stuff all that often). I considered allowing the winner to select the shipment method, but honestly, I've never had any problems with Priority Mail and it just seemed like a safer choice (no arguments over damage during shipment, etc.).

I actually agree that it would be terrific if Wizards of the Coast would offer the material as PDFs. It would help organizers as well as people unable to attend. (WotC provided the organizers the PDFs for one or two Game Days in the past and it helped me prepare and gather material for the other DMs.)
