So how well will GW need to sell for them(WotC) to sell basic card sets seperately? Kind of need them for building personal decks, or for DMs to make mods to their own decks.

It would be handy to be able to 'salt' the DM deck with duplicates of a given card.  It would get pretty expensive doing that by buying whole boxed sets.   Though, for the number of cards you get, no more expensive than buying boosters ($40, 80 cards, 50 cents a card, same as boosters).

I've thought about buying another boxed set just to get extra cards. Of course, that would also give me a "reading" copy of the rulebook that I could have at the gaming table. (The rulebook is pretty fragile.)

Same here.  I picked up an extra set as FLGS support.  The extra set is useful for the cards, the extra book, and the counters.

I noticed the spine on my rule book is seperating.    But it has been handled ALOT!  I may or may not buy another boxed set.  I hope they releaes the rules seperately.  It would be a GREAT thing for players, and would give them incentive to buy boosters.

For those of you paying $30 for your sets, the idea of buying another set is attractive.

The dollor value between the USA and Australia is quite similar ... but ... we here in Australia are paying $60 for the box and $6 for the boosters.

The idea of buying another set here, as handy as it is, loses it's attractiveness from a financial point of view.
