| #1mightyerocJan 30, 2011 12:31:36 | So this was may 2nd session of GW4e. I am the Gamma Master and 2 new* players joined the group. The party now consists of the following: Gravity Contolling / Engineered Human: Carly* Android / Radioactive: Constructicon 347* "fox" swarm / speedster: Dash Speedster / Telekinetic: Spectra Hawkoid / Pyrokinetic: demon Electrokinetic / Yeti: Ajax I picked up where session 1 had stopped with Dash, Spectra, Demon and Ajax investigating the Security Desk in the Foyer in the PungCo. building. Carly and C347 were in the hallway just west of the foyer and were listening to the other move about. Just as they were about to step out and confront the others a group of 6 security bots came down the hall! Carly and C347 ran out into the Foyer and took position on either side of the doorway, C347 closed the doors behind them. The rest of the players seeing this took defensive postions wondering who this woman and her robot were!??!?! The doors exploded into the foyer as the bots crashed through them! Scanning the room they split into 2 groups of 3! Demon and Spectra were near an old potted plant arguing over a discovered Visitor badge. Seeing the Bots demon high tails it back over to the Elevator block and hides with Spectra running to the security desk. Ajax and Dash use the security dask as cover and Ajax draws his Laser Pistol. Carly holds up her recently discovered Visitor pass and declares she has authorization to be here! The bots scan her badge and designate C347 as an unathorized unit! C347 responds that the building is currently out of Code and suffers from structural instability and are going to be fined! Much shooting and zapping commences! Spectra tries to use his badge to get the bots to leave Ajax and Dash alone. The bots ignore him and jolt Ajax! He is immune and thinks it tickles! Dash swarms up Ajax's back leaps off him slamming into the lead bot forcing it to crash into it's partners. This followed in quick succession by a Laser pistol Blast, Fiery Flare, and a chakra throw that nearly decimates the trio of bots! Meanwhile Carly tries to get the bots to realize that C347 is with her and therefore falls under her Visitor badge. The bots query this and come back with a reply that her badge expired 151 years ago! To which Carly responds with a Bold attack allowing C347 a free attack as well! The Bots were all dispatched after not much trouble. The group seached for junk in the old offices on floor 1. They decided to join forces and search the rest of the building for the secret R&D thing. They found more junk on the 2nd floor and Carly used the rest room. On the 3rd floor they chose to check out the Heli-pad on the roof before searching the rest of the 3rd floor. We stopped there for the night as we has a bit of a late start and everyone is getting used to the 4e combat rules and formulas for attacking and damage. None of us are D&D4e players at all, 3.5 was as far as any of us went and that was lightly. Check my blog page photo section for some pics of the action. |

| #4mightyerocJan 30, 2011 20:29:13 | I ran this on games day and the pack didn't have maps in it! Did anyone else have that problem? Mine had the map. My problem is that the map is only good for 3 of 5 encounters.... The Games Day Poster that showed a blown up version of the evacuation map from the inside cover of the module would have been invaluable I think, in that it could stand in for a map of the other floors of the building. Encounters 3&4 both take place on the 1st floor of the building and could use a map. And my players wanted to explore the whole building! I made use of my generic D&D map and some tiles. But I think they could have thrown us a little bigger bone. |
| #5coreyhaim8mydogJan 30, 2011 21:10:34 | There isn't any way to get our (my) hands on this adventure, is there? |
| #6miniaturegeekJan 31, 2011 8:44:01 | Check my blog page photo section for some pics of the action. I'm still kinda new to this, I'm going to try to find this on my own but is there any chance you can post a link? |
| #7mvincentJan 31, 2011 11:50:49 | Heh... I used Hillsboro (OR.) too (well, 'Hellsboro' in GW). One of my players got to visit his real-life desk in the Intel Labs; and of course the player's used the 'Death Reading' Alpha power on the skeleton they found there. |
| #8Seeker95Jan 31, 2011 13:55:34 | Because I live in NC, and Ashville (Asheville) is at the western end of our state, with Murfreesboro (Freesboro) being the name of a town in North Carolina, I automatically interpreted yours as Hillsborough, which is about ten minutes north of my home. |

| #10Seeker95Feb 02, 2011 8:37:18 | Looks like you got your wish. Hopefully they find a way to fix the gigantic memory drain it is forcing on the Forums. |
| #11miniaturegeekFeb 02, 2011 16:21:01 | Looks like you got your wish. Is that why everything has been running so slowly? |
| #12CJonnyLFeb 03, 2011 3:09:40 | I ran this on games day and the pack didn't have maps in it! Did anyone else have that problem? Well I seem to remember the encounters had maps of gas stations and things in the book. And all we had was a poster that had sort of a map on it, but it wasn't really to scale. I'll have to dig up my book and see... |
| #13mightyerocFeb 04, 2011 17:55:27 | I ran this on games day and the pack didn't have maps in it! Did anyone else have that problem? CJonnyL, sounds like you guys were using maps from the Boxed set and the Games Day Poster. The Poster has an enlarged version of the Building map on that looks like a fire escape map. I am dying to get one of those posters!! My Game store never got them! |
| #14CJonnyLFeb 09, 2011 3:24:58 | I ran this on games day and the pack didn't have maps in it! Did anyone else have that problem? Yeah... but the maps that were in the actual adventure were not the same ones that game with the original set. I figured they would come with stuff, but didn't. At least not with our store's package... |
