Led by the secretive figure known only as 'Striker,' the guild is the backbone of the unlawful underbelly of the city. =============================== OoC: People who have no reason to post here will find their posts deleted. You may only assume that you belong to the guild if you were born and raised in Garic. Having levels in rogue is not necessarily the same thing as being a member of the guild. [The (1) in the title above indicates that it is the first Striker's Thieves' Guild thread since the new boards were opened. To review the previous thread, click here.] |

Its small, filthy windows have a grating of iron bars across them, and Tareh leads the way in, looking around the street nervously, like a youngster who's strayed into the wrong part of town and isn't sure how to get out. Inside lurk several beefy men, mostly human but including one dwarf who looks like he'd be a mean drunk. The air is heavy with cigar smoke, and the group as a whole turns to look as they enter. "I —" Tareh stammers a bit, staying in character as she addresses the man behind the counter, who wears a bloodstained apron. "I understand you can get some cuts of meat here, that aren't available in the other shops of the city?" The other men settle back into their conversation. "I'd like to look at them, if you don't mind, before I buy." When he leads her into the back, she beckons to Kai to follow. "Rejert, a new recruit. Needs to know how to find the safehouse. Kai, this is Rejert. He runs the shop that serves as a front for us here." |
| #4zombiegleemaxNov 06, 2003 18:09:10 | Kai follows the girl into the back room. His eyes resting on each man before entering. When they come to a stop in the back room, he raises his view up to Rejert. *nods* |
| #5zombiegleemaxNov 07, 2003 19:01:17 | The big man nods slowly, looking at Kai carefully as if to memorize what is visible of the elf's face. "You make sure you know the passwords, afore you come here alone," he says. "You won't like what happens, if'n you don't." Moving among the hanging meats, Tareh makes a selection and nods to Kai. "We can go back, if you're ready." |
| #6zombiegleemaxNov 07, 2003 19:34:07 | After some time, Kai looks away from the man and turns towards Tareh as she makes her descision. He then takes a step back from the door to make room for the girl and gestures slightly to the door. |
| #7zombiegleemaxNov 08, 2003 20:12:48 | Kai and Tareh wait in the front of the shop until Rejert comes out with a slab of meat wrapped in paper. Tareh pays for it with a few coins, and they exit. The men still gathered in the front do not look up as the two leave. [To the Fox] |
| #8kneyejailbNov 12, 2004 22:52:53 | A gnome and an elf crouch in a tunnel. Waiting. The elf keeps his eyes alert, looking forward and back. "She'll be here soon. She wouldn't desert us." The gnome shakes. "I hope so. I'm getting hungry. And we've eaten everything here except for my lucky potato." "She'll be here." Pinker Tucker shrugs. "I hope so. This was all her idea anyhow. I just wanted to sell vegtables." Aramil Fletcher nods. "And I just wanted to hunt animals. But we have to accept where fate, and Fern has brought us. It's too late to change that now." Pinker exhales. "I suppose. But it's been such a long time. Maybe she forgot about us?" The elf shakes his head. "I really doubt she'd forget that we are positioned to sink a dagger deep into the heart of the Strikers organization." "She couldn't have forgotten us." A third voice chimes in just as a black shadowy form materializes behind the elf. "You'd be surprised what she can forget." The ghost's face changes from that of Taleren Roth to one of unspeakable horror. Both the elf and the gnome begin to feel their lives draining away. The ghost moans out again. "You'd be very surprised." Neither of the two living beings makes it out of the tunnel alive, though the body of the gnome does make a nice conversational topic once the taxidermist is done stuffing it. |
