| #1GavinfoxMay 03, 2013 16:29:50 | Hi there, I am playing a character in Ahlissa who is getting... perturbed... by the rampant evilness and corruption around him, and he wants to start traveling to a place that is less absurdly evil than Ahlissa. What are some of the nearest nations / independent cities that aren't freaking lawful evil? What about something that never was under the thumb or social influence of the Scarlet Brotherhood? Does anyone have any suggestions? |

What are some of the nearest nations / independent cities that aren't freaking lawful evil? Make for Nyrond and put Ahlissa and the Scarlet Brotherhood behind you. Nyrond is a powerful, LG realm, to the northwest of Ahlissa. You should take a ship there if you can, because the most direct overland route is probably very dangerous because it crosses a buffer-zone and land filled with ruins and the abodes for monsters, bandits, and cults. |

Nyrond is also having problems as of CY591, so there are some bandits, corrupt local leaders, etc. The economy is slowly recovering from the wars, and otherwise honest folk have become criminals... but it at least isn't overrun with demons and psychopathic undead leaders. Move further northwest/west and make for the Urnst states (duchy or county) where its more stable. |

The cities in the western half, for example, are administered by Cranden nobles - they tend to be more neutral or even good in quality (one being run by a paladin). Further away, the Theocracy of the Pale is firmly Lawful Neutral (though not exactly in a friendly way, given how they let Tenha fall). Much like Nyrond, Furyondy is technically Lawful Good, though the powerful nobles in the south lean much more strongly towards a very selfish Neutrality. The free cities of Greyhawk and Dyvers (aka Amsterdam) are both strongly Lawful Neutral in character (some might say True Neutral). I feel the Sheldomar Valley region in western Flanaess is also mainly Lawful Neutral (Keoland hasn't exactly been a caring imperial power, esp. to its satellite states), but that may be up for debate. If you simply want to move, the Cranden lands would be your best bet. If you're so disgusted with the country that you want to emigrate completely, the world is your oyster. |
