I am curious how you are handling the following:

* Deities (especially new ones like the Raven Queen)
* Currently unavailable classes (and spell lists) like Druids
* Tieflings and Dragonborn (or Drow!) PC's
* Any other conflicts or gaps that need to be addressed

Hey

I just started running the Scales of War Adventure Path in Greyhawk, setting it in Sterich, after the Red Hand of Doom, so around 607CY.

Deities - I have put in subs where I could. Ioun becomes Istus, Sometimes the Raven Queen is Wee Jas. Pelor stays. Bahamut stays draconic - so Paladins move to Heironeous, etc when that comes up. Basically if I have a god reference, I switch it, and if I have a PC with a GH deity, who wants a Channel Divinity feature, I look for someone close.

Classes - I didn't allow any in the PCs yet. Since I am starting a new campaign, there is no reason anyone will meet an NPC like that yet. In the future, the classes will be there, but NPCs don't need classes anyway, just powers with flavor, so that won't be a problem.

Races - I have not allowed Tieflings, but would bring them out of Dorakaa or Rauxes and the Great Kingdom. Dragonborn I have made come from the Pinnacles of Azor'alq. Drow would come up as usual from the Underdark. Eladrin replace High and Grey elves, and Elf replaces Wild, Wood, and Grugach. Valley elves would be Eladrin too.

Conflicts - yeah, there are going to be some, but I am looking for those things. In 4E, a lot more hand-waving is encouraged, so that allows us to get through the conflicts without having to predecide how to do so. One thing I am thinking about is the Planes. Haven't tackled it yet - there may
be info in the Manual of the Planes to help retroconvert.

I think the new Forgotten Realms books will help too. It has ideas on how to map old to new concepts. I expect to steal a bunch of ideas from that for Greyhawk.

The way I look at it, this is a very easy conversion, honestly. The Raven Queen is Wee Jas, Bahamut becomes Heironeous (I know, Bahamut is still in the setting, too), Bane becomes Hextor... as for classes which are not currently around, I would just say that they're around, doing their thing, and make them very much a window dressing. As more classes become available, allow the PCs to have more choice. Tieflings could emerge from the Horned Society, or with a little retooling, Iuz's territories. As for dragonborn, they could emerge from western Oerik or some unexplored area. As for the new planar structure, it is very adaptable to the Great Wheel. I would just say that the Elemental Chaos is the Inner Planes, the Astral Sea's godly domains and such are the Outer Planes, as well as the Abyss. The feywild is very much like the world of the Faerie that Escalla hails from in the Justicar novel series, so that pretty much takes care of that... just my two cents. Take from it what you will.
