There's a sidebar which should help: Converting Core D&D Characters to Forgotten Realms Characters. For instance, Vecna is equivalent to Shar, Kord to Tempus (or Lathander or Uthgar), while Ehlonna could be Mielikki by any other name. These guidelines should work just as easily in 4e as they did in 3e. |

I just can't see enough in the campaign guide to tempt me to buy it... Damn WotC and their cunning cross-pollenation plan to exploit us . |

It is useful in explaining how to relate similar terms - like how the elves and eladrin should split in greyhawk, and how the planes can work with it, and the gods. There is definitely useful stuff for the gods we can delve into FR for. I do plan to get the FRPG for that, and use the divinity feats. So we should just start compiling a list here of deity conversions. For me: Elven, Dwarven, etc gods go across worlds, so that is good. Torm = Heironeous Amaunator = Pelor? Bane = Hextor Chauntea = Beory Cyric = Syrul? Tempus = Kord, or Kelanen Silvanus = Obad-Hai? Also, there was some movement in the ranks of the gods. I need to check on those, but it looks like Greater and Intermediate are mostly Greater now, and some Intermediate and some Lesser are now just plain old gods, and some Lesser and Demi became Exarchs. So we may need to revamp that level - depending on what it really means. I think that essentially Greater gods make a realm, gods live in the realm too, and exarchs specifically serve a greater god. Any more thoughts? ROB |

Hope this is helpful ;). |
