I'm just a n00b when it comes to GH, but I found this timeline useful

Check out Canonfire! for all things Greyhawk.  I found a ton of awesome stuff for my Bissel campaign there.

Here's a wiki timeline:

Here's the GreyChrondex:

www.canonfire.com/cfhtml/ghchrondex.php

Much of the events in Oerth's history are somewhat vague. When did the Isles of Woe sink? (Best guess is around 2000 years ago) When did the Tyrants of the Trask bring about the end of the City of the Summer Stars? What of Queen Ehlissa the Enchantress or Lum the Mad, or the City of the Gods?

Greyhawk is a far less developed setting than the Forgotten Realms, so there's a lot we just don't know. We don't know what the Year 1 in the Suloise Dating system means, or what Year 1 in the Flan Tracking represents.

Which is a good thing, from some perspectives, because it means there's less crap.

More to the point, it shows how in a relatively undeveloped culture that only recently found the printing press, information can be hidden, uncertain, or even completely wrong.

ANd because not everything has been pinned down, decided, detailed, and chronicled, the DM has a great deal of leeway.

You'll find info about some aspects of Greyhawk's ancient history in the "Epic Mysteries" section of my website at melkot.com/epic.html   You may also find some other things of interest on the rest of my site as well. Use the sitemap on the Site History page to get a good overview of what I have.

Here is one we used ... compiled from various sources and includes the canonical greyhawk events

I hope it helps.

Some of the old basic/expert adventures are actually set in Greyhawk, namely the various Blackmoor modules (City of the Gods, Adventures in Blackmoor, Temple of the frog). These modules give some ancient history of Greyhawk/Flaeness. B4 The Lost City is set in the western desert region and gives a little information.
