Very few have ever seen one, let alone more than one of the monuments. Some of the monuments and ruins were constructed recently or far in the past, others are magical Phenomenon native to Oerth, others still are from other places entirely... Note – This information is for Game Masters, players are advised to experience these locations throughout the game. Geoff, Duchy of - Warlord Statues (5) Over 1,000+ years old these massive statues are Ogre Tribal Chiefs. 100 feet tall, carved to resemble the original tribe leaders. Sacred to Ogres, Frequent Ogre raids into Geoff for the statues. Very hostile area with frequent ogre tribe visits. Any one who does not follow an evil god touching these statues will be petrified and some statues around the bases of the statues have been maimed. The Warlord Statues are immune to magic, there existence is legend among Ogres. Halflings keep watch over the area and the statues. Currently the area has a primate ogre fort at the base. Links – Halfling clans, Moradin church (wishing to remote the statues permanently). Knights of the Watch may have noticed ogre activity in the region. Medegia, See of – Suderwald Large series of caverns are in good condition. Unfortunately they have been inhabited by many trolls for hundreds of years. Located on the eastern coast. Hanging vines everywhere and there are thousands of bats in the upper caverns. It is very dark throughout. Several different troll tribes dwell within the caverns. With patrols busy with wars the number of trolls have multiplied considerably. Sorcerer's Nexus of Rel Astra may be conducting experiment in controlling the trolls as shock troops for a power control bid of the region. Links – Ahlissa militia, Church of Wee Jas (wants the caves for themselves). Nyrond –Hexfeuer. Within the Flinty hills, large collection of ruins with multicolored flames throughout. In the centre lies three sunken ziggurats, each linked with two guard towers. Long ago these belonged to minotaurs and primitive map drawings indicate more ziggurats in the Rakers mountains. The towers are 3 stories high but the Ziggurats each have nine levels high and 3 levels deep. Orcus and fiend carvings everywhere. An earthquake damaged one third of it three hundred years ago. Links – Bone march tribes (wanting the ruins as a base), Nyrond militia (wanting to secure the area), Dragon (who has a lair in the area). Perrenland - Ice Basilisk Amongst some 2,000+ years old ruins. The Ice Basilisk stands 60ft tall, 90 feet long. It is indestructible and made of ice structure with a cold aura for 100 feet radius. Those touching the basilisk are mutated, physically, mentally and/or spiritually. Eladrin consider the area cursed and will not go there. Cult of Tiamat sacrifices Good priests to this monument. They follow a prophesy that the Ice Basilisk will turn into Tiamat and lead a forgotten race to defeat its enemies. Tiamats is time bomb and has been cracking since 650 years ago. The entire area is unholy. Links – Cult of Tiamat will use the Iuz vs Furyondy skirmishes as a decoy to raid for sacrifices. Eladrin wizards know of the Ice Basilisk, also Dwarven clans in the Area. Rovers of the Barrens - Living Fortress Within the Forlorn Forest a Druid citadel made from magic & plants exists. Huge tower with 4 small towers next to it. The Living Fortress was made in the last 200 years by Elves, Halflings and Humans. The main tower is 10 stories high, the other towers 5. Whole area & towers is covered in vines, grass and flowers. Druids and Rangers keep watch over the area against evil. Only Druids, Rangers & followers of Beory or Ehlonna can enter. Entire area is a 'holy ground'. Many Golems & Gargoyle roam the area as guardians. Central tower is part plant and will repair damage over time. The inhabitants have been kept busy the last two decades with fiends from Iuz patrolling nearby. Links – Beory church, Ehlonna church. Iuz would love to corrupt the tower and use it to power his own forces. Sunndi – Biniagie Ancient cavern system. Recently repaired by insectile creatures. Original inhabitants were Dragons, but they left years ago during the Suloise Migrations. For a time a group of Warlocks ruled the caverns but they opened portals to places unknown and the insects swarmed through. Ten years later it is a massive lair of insectile creatures. Wooded hills with caves beneath them. Many large shrubs throughout the caves and surrounding area. Located where the forest and hills meet the southern swamp. There are traps throughout western and eastern sides. Insect beasts have grown in number patrols and trade nearby have been attacked. Links – Dwarven clans, Merchant Houses, Moradin Church. Wild Coast. - Xagafell. Over 10,000 years old, these ruins were originally created by goblins, but Drow took over the area over a hundred years ago. The Drow use it as an information gathering and staging outpost to observe and corrupt the surface lands. Complex labyrinth of caves, trees and woven tunnels of plant matter over several hundred meters. In the last two years the Drow have stepped up their activities to and from this base. Links – Gnarley Forest Rangers, Satyr tribes. Perhaps the Drow have been ambushing Knights of Luna or the Knights have been watching the Drow and have decided to take action. |
