More of Iuz's orcs were killed by his fiends than were killed by Furyondy's soldiers.

Sir Hallerd, a Knight of the Shield, was killed in defense of the Ritensa.  Raised from the dead, he was then killed defending Argotha Manor, his childhood home.  Again raised from the dead, he was killed in the defense of Admundfort.  Iuz clergy then animated his bones, and his soulless body ws destroyed by Knights of the Shield assaulting Critwall.

When Rary attacked the Circle of Eight in Greyhawk, a whole neighborhood was destroyed.  Only one building was left standing when it was over.  This was the home of a minor wizard who had just that morning purchased a scroll of Rary's Mneumonic Enhancer.

As Osson swept across the southern portions of the Great Kingdom, he sacked the manor where Xaventer learned to ride horses in his youth.  His own horse killed from beneath him, Osson took a new horse from the manor.  It was the offspring of the horse Xaventer rode as a child.

An agent of the Scarlet Brotherhood courted the younger sister of Reydrich as a part of his undercover identity.  His identity was discovered, and the agent fled back to the brotherhood.  The same agent is not working for Reydrich's clone with a new undercover identity.

The Wars greatly disrupted loggin activity on the Adri and Grandwood.  Both forest have been spreading for the first time in centuries.  Between the two of them, the amount of land covered with new tree growth is greater in area than the Bonewood.

Prior to the Wars, Olleg was a two bit thief from Free Borough in Furyondy.  As he fled prosecution eastward, the Wars started.  He learned the new faith of Mayaheine and took to preaching it as he traveled across Nyrond.  Finally settling down in a village in the Flinty Hills, Olleg was instrumental in defending it from an orcish assault and gained national fame.  Well respected as a man of the faith throughout Nyrond, he still has a warrant for arrest in Free Borough.

The Overking's armies killed more people in the destruction of Medegia than the did in the destruction of Almor.

The minor prince Ezred of House Garesteth refused to send his house guard to join the Overking's armies.  When a full company of soldiers was sent to capture him, they mistakenly assaulted a neighboring manor.  Thus spared, Ezred forcefully took over what remained of that manor when the company left.  He was later given a medal for maintaining the order of the realm.

The elf Aleireniel, Vesve Knight of the Heart, killed 234 orcs during the Wars before he was himself killed.  Aleireniel was 234 years old at his death.

Perrenland mercenaries hired by Furyondy killed more of Iuz's soldiers than Velunese soldiers did, despite Perrenland's official neutrality.

The Red Sparrow was a warship in Furyondy's Whyestil squadron.  As part of the rear guard when the squadron sailed down the Veng to the Nyr Dyv, the Red Sparrow was separated from the fleet.  Unable to join the squadron due to orcish war vesses, the Red Sparrow stayed in the lake.  Orcish ships pursued the ship for a full three months as the Red Sparrow's masterful captain kept his vessel one step ahead of the.  Unable to keep up the game forever, the captain decided to attempt to sail down the Veng.  Traveling at full sail the entire trip, the Red Sparrow narrowly managed to make it to the naval base at Willip.  Mistaken bookkeeping led the admiral of the Whyestil squadron to believe the Red Sparrow had been in Willip all along, but missing from duty for the past month.  The admiral brought up charges of desertion against the captain and remaining crew.  It was only after the War ended that the truth came out and they were exonerated.

Nestled behind a low rise, the Almore hamlet of Higboth was lucky enough to escape the Overking's army in the destruction of that land.  Continuously raided in the years that followed, the people of Higboth learned martial skills using scaveged Aerdi weaponry and armor.  When Nyrond's army later liberated Almor, the people of Higboth marched out to greet them.  Wearing Aerdi armor and weaponry, they were mistaken as the enemy by an aggressive Nyrondese captain.  Having survived the Overking's assault and post-war evils of Almor, the people of Higboth were annihilated by a charge of Nyrondese cavalry.

The Stonefist soldier Harchak participated in the assault on Calbut, managing to strike the first kill with a well placed arrow.  Throughout the sacking of Tenh, Harchak was at the forefront of many assaults and laid many Tenhese low.  On the march back to Stonefist years later, Harchack tripped while going through the ruins of Clabut.  He landed on the same arrow he had shot years before and died of infection soon after.

In direct command of his army, Turrosh Mak won more battles than any other field commander in the War.  Turrosh mak also lost more soldiers in combat than any other field commander.

Nyrond stockpiled more scrolls than any other nation.  Nyrondese war wizards used more scrolls in the War than in the entire preceding century.  Nyrond lost as many minor wizards from miscast scrolls as were killed by the enemy.

The Overking ordered the confiscation of all magic items in Rauxes.  More magical resources were expended in carrying out this order than were confiscated.

The Scarlet Brotherhood loaded a huge stockpile of potions on the warship Trance as a gift for Turrosh Mak.  The Trance was captured en route by a Gyrax buccaneer.  Prince Corond used the potions to great effect and later credited the defense of Ulek to them.

The Tenh knight Sir Quinion fled to the Shield Lands after his manor was overrun by Fisters.  His new home in the Shield Lands was soon overrun by Iuz, and he fled to the Wild Coast.  Turrosh Mak conquered the Wild Coast, and he fled across the bay to Almor.  The Great Kingdom soon invaded Almor, and he boarded the first ship he could find.  The ship struck a sandbar off the southern coast of the Bright Desert, drowning all the passengers but Sir Quinion.  Local tribesmen befriended him and made him an honorary member of their small tribe.  After some months of living in the desert, Rary arrived.  Unable to allow himself to flee again, Sir Quinion led the tribesmen in battle.  Seeing Robilar leading Rary's forces, Sir Quinion led a furious charge.  His lance broke against the iron destrier.  Robilar's lance pierced Sir Quinion's left shoulder and unhorsed him.  Sir Quinion has been locked in prison by Robilar since.  He waits for the day Rary's empire is overrun.

Before the wars, halfling slinger mercenaries could not find a patron willing to hire them.  As arrows and bolts were used up at an alarming rate, halfing slingers became popular.  By the war's end, a halfling slinger could command twice the price of an archer or crossbowman.  Over 200 fought in the defense of Chendl, and Belvor still keeps a mercenary corp of halfling slingers in the capitol.

Furyondian Knights of the Heart lost half their number in the war.  However, they doubled their land holding through charters and grants, and so, have increased their political power in the kingdom.

Prince Corrond personally killed more enemy combatants than any other state leader.

All major nations had extensive contigency plans to defend against the enemy's use of dragons.  No major combatant in the wars used dragons.

I love it.

I can even picture it as a list preceded by a range of numbers for use as a "random anecdote" table.  At the end, the grizzled veteran would say simply: "True story."

Thanks.  Smile

Figured I would start posting random Greyhawk musing from from my old campaign folder from time to time.  Though it is all handwritten, so I'll have to be in the mood for typing.

These are brilliant and TregMallin's suggestion of a random anecdote table would work well as well.

Makes me want to use the Wars when previously I have been in two minds.

It looks like you were having a great campaign going there! That's the kind of customization to a campaign I like, not sticking exactly to the published staff, but not going too far off track either. I love it!
