The idea is for a second character you would allow your player to control. I am working on this as a way to help out a 2 person group I am running. Having them control 2 combat classes at once would be chaos, and not allow them to get into character fully. For example, this is what I am working on so far. Concept: A 2nd character that lvls with your main character. She has her own class which emphasizes support and skills that will aid your main character. The cleric player will control this priest, who he can develop to compliment his build. He might make the priest religious counsel, who he can go to for advice, quest clarfication, etc. He might make the priest a buffer who heals, inspires and blesses him when he visits. Since this is not the "hero" character, many players would be willing to create less "desirable" archetypes...like the soothing, peaceful, Priest who guides the Cleric or Paladin in his exploits. This will also open up some more RP scenarios and content for the players. Example: Priest Roll: Support Power Source: Divine Key Abilities: Wisdom, Intelligence, Charisma Armor Proficiencies: Cloth Weapon Proficiencies: Simple Melee Implement: Holy Symbol Bonus Defense: +2 Will Hit Points at 1st lvl: 1 + Constitution Modifier Hit Points per level gained: 1 Healing Surge per Day: N/A Trained Skill: Religion. From the Class list below choose 4 more trained skills. Arcana (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Heal (Wis), History (Int), Insight (Wis), Intimidate (Cha), Religion (Int). Class Features: Ritual Casting Bonus Feat: Skill Focus Lvl 1 At-Will Abilities Bless Item You bestow a divine blessing on an item to improve its use. Religion vs. DC15 +1 to applicable skill of item (Weapon attack/dmg, Armor AC, etc.) 10hrs/lvl duration Spiritual Mending You tend to day to day ailments with divine blessing Heal vs. DC15 2/lvl hp healed Religious Insight You counsel the weary with spiritual wisdom Religion vs. DC set by DM +2 to Religion/History roles pertaining to religion for target. Protection against Evil You bless your patron with divine protection +1 rolls vs. Evil aligned 10hrs/lvl duration Level 1 Encounter Abilities* Divine Light You infuse the item with divine energy, causing it to illuminate and ward evil -1 initiative to evil opponents when exposed, can be used as light source Divine Healing You heal your patrons wounds Fully heal target equal to or lower than your level. For targets higher you heal them for your lvl max hp. (Lvl 2 priest heals a lvl 30 Fighter as a lvl 2 Fighter) Religious Zeal Your words inspires the faithful Grants 1 bonus HP/lvl of caster Duration 10 hrs/lvl Divine Counsel Your counsel aids your patrons understanding Grants +2 bonus to targets Relgion/History/Insight/Bluff when pertaining to Religion/Spirituality. Duration 10hrs/lvl Level 1 Daily Abilities Cure Disease You call on divine power to cure disease Cure disease equal to or lower than your level Consult the Gods Through prayer and meditation you are able to gain answers from the Gods Insight vs. DC set by DM Ability to ask 1 question to the Gods 1 word/lvl answer. Create Holy Symbol Through prayer and components you are able to construct a Holy Symbol Religion vs. DC set by DM pending components and quality Create a Magic Symbol (PHB p.236) equal to or lower than your level Religious Command You are able to use your knowledge to command the flock +2 to intimidate role vs. Followers of the God equal or less than your level. *I am planning on making an encounter equal a 1 hour visit. |
