| #1alvl1heroNov 17, 2008 3:59:30 | Alright, my bowmen class didn't work out well. I can see now that it was very limited in its scope so I tried to cook up something better. PEACH PLEASE! Presenting Relm's class the Pictomancer. Pictomancer Hit Die: d4 Requirements: Skills: Craft (Art) 8 ranks and Profession (Painter, Calligrapher, or Scribbler) 4 ranks Feats: Any Item Creation feat and Deft Hands Spells: Able to cast 2nd-level Arcane Spells Class Skills: Appraise, Concentration, Craft, Decipher Script, Profession, Spellcraft, and Use Magic Device Skill Points at Each Level: 2 + Int modifier Class Features: Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Pictomancers gain no proficiency with any weapon or armor. Spells per Day/Spells Known: As previous spellcasting class The Pen Is Mightier: A Pictomancer can use the very tools of his trade as weapons in battle and, the he is treated as having the proper proficiencies with these items. If wielding a paint brush and pallet in battle, both items swell to abnormal size. Treat the brush as a Light Mace with the added effect of blinding a target on a critical hit (Creatures without eyes are immune to this effect), and the pallet as a Wooden Buckler with no Armor Check Penalty or Arcane Spell Failure. If using a quill pen its tip widens and the feather curls around the Pictomancers hand securely. Treat it as a Punching Dagger that deals x3 damage normal and x6 damage on a critical to weapons during a sunder attempt. When using a pencil or charcoal stick it seems to thicken and sharpen itself into a wicked point. Treat it as a Dagger that does piercing damage and has 2/natural armor piercing. These utensils may not be mixed and matched. If they are, they stay normal tools. Paint Creature, Lesser: By painting or drawing an effigy of a targeted creature in mid-air, a Pictomancer can make a limited copy of that creature. This effect requires a standard, attack of opportunity provoking, action rolling a Craft (Art) check with the DC equal to 10 + 1/2 the target creatures hit dice rounded up and + 2 for every creature size above medium (-1 for every size below). If successful, a copy of the "Painted" creature appears directly in front of it and performs either the targets strongest melee attack or one of its special abilities, including spells or spell like abilities, against the Pictomancers target. The copy provokes no attacks of opportunity, is treated as having a full round, and has all of the stats, abilities, and equipment of the original creature as if it was in a perfectly normal state. After performing the attack, the copy dissipates immediately. |

Using this ability a Pictomancer may make any piece of standard, non-magical equipment. Whatever surface the Pictomancer chooses to paint on designates what the item is made out of and how well its made but, does nothing the the actual surface (If you draw a sword on an unworked sandstone wall, you would effectively receive an unworked sandstone sword. The properties of this sword should reflect what its made out of [ex: Its very heavy and hard to use, does bashing damage instead of slashing, and may shatter easily] and would leave no impression on the wall.). This item will last a maximum of one hour or until dismissed. Upon which, it dissipates. Paint Spell, Lesser: Flashily painted, a Pictomancer emulates a spells effect. Three times per day a Pictomancer may emulate any level two or lower arcane spell, even if he doesn't already know it. Any spell copied this way is considered a spell like ability. Doing so requires as much time as the spells normal casting time and it still provokes attacks of opportunity but, it requires no focus or material components. Treat the Pictomancers levels as the effective caster level for the purpose of these spells only. Paint Creature: This feature functions the same as Paint Creature, Lesser except the copy now lasts until the start of the Pictomancers next round. Doing so, it may provide a flanking bonus and instead of appearing in front of his target, may appear anywhere within the creatures melee range. |
| #3alvl1heroNov 17, 2008 4:02:38 | Paint Item: As Paint Item, Lesser, except the Pictomancer may now paint any full size, non-magical, piece of equipment on any surface regardless of shape. If they do, it is made out of standard materials and lasts for 24 hours. Paint Spell: From now on, a Pictomancer may emulate any level two or lower arcane spell of his choice six times per day. Paint Creature, Greater: Any copy the Pictomancer creates gets one extra turn immediately before the Pictomancers next turn. Paint Item, Greater: The Pictomancer may now paint any piece of equipment as a small pictograph and have it appear as normal sized. They may also paint small structures such as a house, covered ram, row boat, or a 5ft by 10ft wall. Paint Spell, Greater: A Pictomancer may now emulate any level four or lower arcane spell of his choice nine times per day. Control: With this skill a Pictomancer creates an effigy of a creature as if with the Paint Creature, Lesser class feature. Instead of making a copy, however, he takes control of a creature. He may then dictate all of the controlled creatures movements, attacks, and abilities. The Pictomancer cannot force a creature to render itself vulnerable (ex: dropping any of its equipment, killing itself, or making itself vulnerable to a coup de grace attempt.) but, may make the creature fight its ally or something it would not normal attack. This ability's effects last until after the controlled creatures turn, or until the Pictomancers next turn. |
