The choice you make provides certain bonuses to improviser powers Devilish Improviser: when wielding an improvised weapon your weapon damage die is increased by 1 size, 2 sizes at 11th lvl, and 3 at 21st. Survivalist Improviser: Gain +2 AC when wielding an improvised weapon, +4 at lvl 11, and + 6 at the 11th Improvised Strategy: Gain + 2 for Bullrush and Grab Attempts. Exploit Weakness: Once Per round when you successfully land an attack against an opponent who is granting you combat advantage you can use the following effects: Devilish Improviser: Target is Knocked Prone and takes damage equal to your 1d4 + Dexterity modifier Survivalist Improviser: Target becomes weakened until end of your next turn and gain temporary hit points equal to 1d4 + your constitution modifier Creative Versatility: Gain a +2 Proficiency bonus when wielding improvised weapons. LVL 1 At Will Powers: Forceful Strike: Gathering strength you throw the entire force of your body into the attack sending your enemy stumbling backwards. At-Will * Martial, Weapon Standard Action Melee Weapon Target: one Creature Attack: Strength vs. AC Hit: 1[W] + Strength Modifier Damage and target is pushed 2 squares At Level 21 2[W]+ Strength Modifier Devlish Improviser: Number of squares target is pushed is equal to you dexterity modifier the target may provoke an opprotunity attack from one ally. Whirlwind Overhead: Whirling your weapon over head you wind up for your throw your enemies step back instinctively, right where you want them. At-will Martial, Weapon Standard action Ranged Weapon Requirement: must be wielding an improvised melee weapon Attack: Strength vs. Reflex Hit 1[W] + Strength Modifier Effect: All adjacent enemies are pushed 1 square Survivalist Improviser: Target is Slowed until end of his next turn Clearing a path You make and opening in the battle by throwing a nearby object and dart into the fray At-will Martial, Weapon Standard action Close Blast 1 Target: One Creature Attack Strength vs. Reflex Requirement must be wielding a ranged improvised weapon Hit: 1[W] + strength Modifier damage Effect Shift 4 squares if possible along the exact path of your ranged attack. Home safe Gathering speed and taking aim at an enemy you slide into him from a low angle At-will Martial, Unarmed Standard action, Unarmed Special: Shift two squares towards your enemy before the attack, this attack may be used to replace a charge attack Target: One Creature Attack: Strength vs. AC Hit: 1d4 + Strength Modifier and target is knocked prone. Encounter powers- Slipping Defenses Your opponent may parry your attack but he’ll find out that you’re more than ready for it Encounter, Martial Weapon Standard Action Melee Weapon Target: One creature Strength vs. AC Hit: 2[W] + Strength Modifier damage Miss: Make an immediate secondary attack Strength vs. Reflex Hit: 1d6 + Strength modifier damage Stop and Stare Your seemingly wild and outlandish attack inspires fear into your opponent even after the blow Encounter, Martial Weapon Standard Action Melee Weapon Target: One creature Strength vs. Willpower Hit 2[W] + Strength Modifier Effect: You opponent can’t take a move action on his next turn The Ol Switcheroo - You move nimbly across the battle field to strike your opponent, disorienting him and taking control of his momentum Encounter Martial, Weapon Standard Action Melee Weapon Target: One creature Attack Strength vs. Reflex Special: You may choose Shift 1 square before or after the attack Hit: 2[W] + Strength Modifier and switch occupied squares with the target, this does not provoke an attack of opportunity. Devilish Improviser: If attack is successful target grants combat advantage until end of your next turn. A Quick Bashing - Picking up the nearest object you quickly smash it over his head Encounter * Martial, Weapon Standard Action Melee Weapon Target: One Creature Attack: Strength vs. AC Requirement: Must be wielding an Improvised melee weapon Hit: 2[W] + Strength modifier damage and target gets -2 to attack rolls Survivalist Improviser: If attack is successful target becomes dazed (save ends) Daily Powers - Meatshielder A swift Strike stuns your opponent and allowing you to take him hostage. Daily * Martial Weapon Standard Action Melee Weapon Target: One Creature Requirement: Attacker must have 1 free hand Attack: Strength vs. AC Hit: 2[W] + Strength Modifier target is stunned(save ends) and counted as grabbed by the attacker Effect: As long as target is grabbed by the attacker, the attacker gains a +3 to AC Survivalist Improviser: Attacker can move half his speed as a move action instead of a standard action and doesn't need to make a check Devilish Improviser: Attack may make a ranged basic attack with a one handed ranged weapon Sharing is Caring: Dashing into close range you, you strike you opponent and simultaneously relieve him of his weapon. Daily * Martial, Weapon or unarmed Standard Action Melee Weapon or unarmed Target: One Creature Requirement: Attacker must have one free hand Attack: Strength vs. Reflex Hit: 3[W] + Str Modifier and target loses his weapon or implement (Not shield). If his weapon or implement is one handed attacker receives it and begins wielding it in his free hand if the weapon or implement is two handed attacker drops his weapon and begins wielding it in both hands Sack of Potatoes You strike your foe, taking advantage of his momentum and your leverage and use it to your own devastating advantage. Daily * Martial Weapon Standard Action Area Burst 2 Target: One adjacent creature Attack: Strength vs. AC Hit 2[W] + Strength Modifier and make an immediate secondary ranged attack using first targets body as an improvised ranged weapon Secondary attack: Strength vs. Reflex Target: Another Creature in Burst Hit: 1d8+ Str modifier damage and both targets land prone in second targets square. Miss: First target lands prone in second targets square. Level 2 Utility Powers Just hard to hit Standing in the fray has its own advantages Encounter * Martial Immediate reaction Personal Trigger: enemy makes a melee attack against you Effect: Attacker takes a -2 penalty to the attack roll for every enemy adjacent to you Unforgiving Exploitation Mistakes like that can cost you the battle….. Daily * Martial Immediate reaction Melee 1 Trigger: Enemy misses a melee attack Effect: Target is disarmed of the weapon used to make the attack. It lands in an unoccupied square 1d6 squares away. Improvised escape A clever escape is quite your specialty Encounter * Martial Move Action Personal Requirement: An adjacent enemy has flaking gains flaking against you Effect: Shift to the nearest square with no enemies adjacent to it Duck and Cover Nothing wrong with surviving….. Encounter * Martial Move Action * Personal Trigger: Enemy makes a ranged attack against you Effect: Immediately drop prone in an unoccupied adjacent square, gain +2 to reflex and on your next turn stand up as a minor action.

"A Quick Bashing" in particular is little better than an MBA for Devilish, but grants an At-Will Dazed for Survivalist, which goes too far the other way and is over-powered for an At-Will. In addition, for a controller you need some multi-target and/or area-effect powers. I think this is something that a lot of attempts at Martial controllers have trouble establishing. |
| #3xxmatrixmasterxxMay 11, 2011 12:41:48 | Interesting idea for a class. Thanks for the Help =P it's always nice to get advice form someone more experienced. I'm thinking I could bump "A quick bashing up to encounter power and give it a 2[w]. This would allow me to throw in a mulit-target attack. Which is really hard like you said cuz as a martial power source I can't really pull something like a wizy Twave but I thinki something like this can do maybe Whirlwind Overhead: Whirling your weapon over head you wind up for your throw your enemies step back instinctively, right where you want them. At-will Martial,Weapon Standard action Ranged Weapon Requirement must be weilding an improvsied melee weapon Attack: Strength vs. Relfex Hit 1[W] + Strength Modifier Effect: All adjacent enemies are pushed 1 square Survivalist Imporvisor: Target is Slowed until end of his next turn |

| #5ougMay 13, 2011 1:43:43 | This is looking awesome! I love the idea of the improviser, it's full of flavour. Can't wait to see some more abilities. One thing, though, is that maybe you could do the improvised weapon like the monk did with unarmed strike, where you're not restricted by weapon. Maybe you could make one of the builds specialise? Just thrwing it out there. |
