Hey all -

Working on a couple campaign options for one of my playgroups and they're going to have to make a few very difficult decisions soon - one of which may result in them becoming (at least temporarily) undead.

Now, I played a ton of Ravenloft back in the day and had no small amount of focus on Requiem: The Grim Harvest - bonus points if you know what I'm talking about. I picked up the Ghostwalk book for 3e but really didn't have too much use for it; it did make for great reading though.

One thing that Requiem really hooks me on is letting the PCs choose an undead "class" (or type, whatever :p). However, I'm not sure if this is the proper method to use for this new campaign - where Requiem was designed for entry-level characters, my team is 18-20 and eagerly awaiting those Epic Destinies.

What I'm thinking is this:
  • No skeletons, zombies. Nothing basic; their new status should reflect their inherent power!
  • Wizards & (Cha) Sorcerers: Lich template (though somewhat restricted)
  • Con-based classes would swing towards mummies or mummy lords
  • Str classes would be more towards ghouls and ghasts (well advanced, of course)
  • Dex classes and people that play as strikers... wraiths and the like

So... my questions:
  • Do you have suggestions for player roles versus undead race options? (I have access to pretty much every accessory from early 2e through current; I'm one of THOSE guys)
  • A chunk of the campaign arc deals with death giants and chronomancy; reactions?
  • Potential encounter/ daily powers for you favorite undead?

I appreciate any help you all might have; thanks in advance!
