"Low Magic" is the general effect I wish to accomplish, but I want to do it without unbalancing the game in favor of "mundanes." 1) Short rests only restore 1 encounter power. (one use of healing word is one power) 2) Extended rests (6 hours) restore all encounter powers, but only one daily power, and ONLY ONE HEALING SURGE. (you can, of course, chain them together in days of bedrest) This last is the important one, as it recreates the "low magic" effect of needing days of bed rest after a long and grueling fight. PEACH? |

The Encounter power is fine, but allow leaders to restore one use of the Word power freely, if they want to restore two it takes the place of an encounter power. Otherwise you have basically healing machines which no one wants to play. X Word powers should simply allow the cleric to heal without interfering with his playing. 2) Extended rests (6 hours) restore all encounter powers, but only one daily power, and ONLY ONE HEALING SURGE. (you can, of course, chain them together in days of bedrest) This seems fine too, so long as you keep it in mind when designing time lines for the bad guys. |

Hm. then perhaps changing the clarification for multi-use powers. If you regen healing word, you get back all 2-3 uses of healing word. In the end, it's the HS limit that really puts the limits on. |
