| #1lordofdisplacerbeast_dupMay 26, 2009 10:45:54 | According the to 3.5 a druid and ranger can only have 1 animal companion at a time? If so, my druid went 2 levels in Animal Lord (cat) and didnt know how to work it out, because they change the whole HD = to druid lv thing. So, here's my idea. - The Animal lord can get an animal companion and add bonuses as if she were lvls in druid in her selected animal + Animal Lord lvls. Example: Druid 5 /Animal lord (cat) 3 can effectively consider cats in the animal companion list to get the bonus as if the druid lv7, thus getting +4HD, +4 Natural Armor, +2 str/dex, 3 bonus tricks and Devotion ability. The cat however cannot be on the list more than half the druid's lvl and the Animal lord's lvl. So, with this that would mean that she couldn't get the bonus stats lion because it's not half of the combined lvl. It would still recieve the level -6 adjustment as normal. At least until the total lvl of the two classes were at least 14. I added that to make the Animal lord seem like it was at least something worth getting. However, didnt want a lvl druid 5/ Animal lord (cat) 5 to get a Dire Lion with +6HD, +6 Natural Armor, +3 Str/Dex, 4 bonus tricks and multiattack. What do you guys think of this. All thoughts would be SUPER awesome as I'm not too accustomed to making house rules. Doesn't seem broken does it? Of course an Animal Lord (cat) can't use this ability to get bonus HD for her Brown bear or such animal; only cat based creatures. Thanks in Advance |
