| #1weaver2Jul 27, 2011 17:26:44 | Hi Everyone, I'm new to D&D as well as the wild world of cartography. I spent awhile last night mapping out a land mass for my campaign with the help of a Cartography Guild tutorial and figured I may as well share it incase someone else wanted to use it. You are all free to share it with people if you'd like. It's my first time ever making something like this so please don't be too mean ![]()
![]() FULL SIZE LINK img20.imageshack.us/img20/5097/landz.png
Happy gaming! |

I wouldn't at all be surprised if the style was very similar as I used a tutorial (as I mentioned in the OP). Though I assure you the land structure was randomized. You can view the tutorial here if you're interested: www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.ph... |

Ah, yes. Tear's Saderan is a tutorial I'd like to master, but I've never had good luck with it using GIMP. Looks like you did a nice job. Regarding the rivers, maybe they look a little straight (or rather, "not wiggly enough"). It's hard for me to say, because I'm not particularly good at rivers. ![]() |

They developed deep like the Grand Canyon but they filled with silt to aroud 50-100 feet and once the silt level was higher than the rock walls that confined their flow they then began to meander across a silted floodplain leaving their original river course behind. You might consider this when developing your map. Also what is your scale? |
