They have a council and perform a grand rite of divination determining that gun powder will only destroy Earth in the near future. So the alchemists of the world decide to hide the secret of gun powder. But to stop the desire to make gun powder, the achemists decide to teach the world their limited magic to satisfy its lust for power.
Thus the alchemists place the earth in a dungeon of unawareness and the world evolves to the present day where the Forgotten Realms are in the Americas, and Ravenloft is in Europe. Kara-Tur is in the East. Even Underdark is present under the continents.
In this campaign world, Bast is in Egypt. Zeus is on his mountain in Greece. The Romans (Aquilonians) lay conquest in Cimmeria (Germany).
The Dark Sun a star with another planet!

Am I right in assuming the goals of this setting would be both "all Earth's mythologies are now real history" and "join X published campaign settings"? Do fireworks not exist, then?
I'd personally find it more interesting if the Americas were wendigos, giant birds (pterosaurs?), magical horned and winged serpents, whale-weres, living houses, monster-ships, shape-changers, warp-fires that cut shortcuts thru the land of the dead, and mirrors that spit smoke and death. Why have two Europes? |
