This pool would have two functions: 1) If a character runs out of APs and desperately needs to use one (to stabilize, pull a feat that may save the party's a$$ etc.) they may draw one from the pool. 2) The party may use these points to pull group manoeuvres, similar to those on the PHB II for parties, but without pre-requisites. Manoeuvres could well emulate a variation on a feat-effect for those involved. I think that this would give a further boost to the teamwork and group bonding for the party, especially if players don't know each other so well. Thoughts/ideas? |

Just a couple questions: Where do the points that supply this pool come from? If someone wants to use a point from the pool, what consensus is needed to allow the point use? Will it require some kind of discussion/vote and will such a thing slow down the game? |

Just a couple questions: Everyone chips in a point or two from their personal pool. Possibly the DM could then replenish this pool when they all level, allowing them to build it up. If someone wants to use a point from the pool, what consensus is needed to allow the point use? Will it require some kind of discussion/vote and will such a thing slow down the game? I would suggest the party establish this between themselves when they establish the pool. I would recommend characters doing 'solo' scenes or adventures be unable to use the pool, though. |

If part of the pool concept is to allow characters who are short on points to be able to use a point in an emergency, then isn't reducing the number of available points per character just going to speed up each character running out of points? I'd suggest adding points to the pool based on how well the party performs. Perhaps accomplishing an important campaign goal or devising a clever strategy as a party to overcome a difficult challenge. I would suggest the party establish this between themselves when they establish the pool. I would recommend characters doing 'solo' scenes or adventures be unable to use the pool, though. Advance discussion can be a good thing. ![]() |
