Taking these points together I had the idea that all the various demons, gods, castles, island, lakes, adventurers, adventurer’s poking fingers and so forth consumed by a SoA actually ended up somewhere strange (i.e. interesting). I envision the inside of the SoA being a great deal like a M.C. Escher painting, time would operate in a peculiar manner and the realm is populated by an assortment of beings that could not be killed even if they were not actually immortal. Once inside, the goal is to get out but not to allow any naughty thing also inside the SoA to escape. |

For example, suppose someone got really, really sick of the Temple of Elemental Evil and they used an SoA to suck the entire complex. Rather than find it as a pile of rubble inside the SoA, the ToEE would be inside, as would any other great and terrible things and places the SoA consumed, each in its own small and surreal realm. Athas could have its own realm. |

Maybe the PCs would have to locate an artifact that in an Anti-Sphere of Annihilation. Dig out a thesaurus and look up what an antonym of 'annihilation' would be. It would be a floating sphere of blank whiteness that takes you back the material plane. |

| #9grumpyceltJan 04, 2010 14:18:05 | What you need to explain is, if there's a way out, how come no one found it before the PCs? I haven't worked that out yet. I might have then go in, gallavant around for months, and then be pulled out by someone making a wish and discover only three or four rounds had gone by in the real world. |

Sphere of Creation? Sphere of Extistance? Sphere of Re-creation? Sphere of Generation? |
