Alright, I need some advice.  Recently my party liberated the Staff of Eyes from a group of kobolds th
at were trying to claim it.  They beat the Kobold Master of Combat and were safely making their way back to town... but got attacked by two Kobonashi with a group of kobolds.  They lost the fight and the staff was taken from them.

Now they need to recover the staff which will involve entering the kobold's lair to retrieve it.  Charging in head-first is probably a bad idea so they will likely receive help from an ally who can disguise them as kobolds.  Once they get inside, though, I'm not sure what to have them do.

I know they'll need to navigate through the lair without rising too much suspicion.  I know that it will all end in an epic battle against wave after wave of kobolds and the two kobonashi.  But there needs to be more substance to this excursion.  This will be the second actual dungeon that they've been in and I could use some help figuring out its design.

Thanks for any advice :o

Kobold always give you a great opportunity for comedy (imo). Have them encounter some crazy kobold sorcerer and his "pet" or maybe a group of them worshipping a giant petrified dragon egg they call "Frank" or run them into the chambers known as the "test of champions" that involve a number of kobold thought up traps (simple but high damage). Definitely throw one or two kobolds who can give them info without a fight (if they choose to talk to it). Anything is possible really.

Oh that's cool, I'll definitely give them a gauntlet to run through to "prove themselves" to the kobolds.  Maybe they'll just get forced to join the fun.  I definitely want them to spend some time interacting with the kobolds and their society
