first: you get to choose 3 compatible basic classes from among the 15 classes available;

second: each time you climb up a level, you gain one talent from one of the 15 classes;

third: each talent pertains to one stat; the six basic stats vary from 0 to 5, according to the # number of talents that you bear given this stat;

four: there are 30 talents to obtain;

five: each of the 15 classes may be of level 1 to 3, with level 1 meaning no talent from class and level 3 meaning the 2 class talents available;

six: your xp derivate from your 15 class levels multiplicate one with the other, from 1 xp for a 0-level to 15.000.000 xp (3^15) for a 30th level.

(this was for the amusing part; talents were grabbed from Champions 4th Ed)

now my character would be 12th GL with:

Fighter 2 w/ Str  Lightning calculator
Barbarian 2 w/ Con  Animal Empathy
Ranger 3 (base class) w/ Str  Find the Path , Int  Ambidexterity
Priest 3 w/ Str  Bureaucratics , Wis  Bribery
Paladin 2 w/ Str  Smite (money)
Ninja 1
Illusionist 1
Monk 1 (base class)
Psionicist 1
Druid 2 w/ Con Science
Brute 2 w/ Cha  BlindFighting
ArchMage 3 w/ Int  Universal Translator , Wis  Financial Resorts, Investment Facilities
Bard 2 w/ Cha  Perfect Pitch
Ruler 1

stats would be:
STR 4
DEX 0
CON 2
INT 2
WIS 2
CHA 2

or

you could rule six apprenticeship levels of a given talent for stats between 5 and 30:
level title
  1    untrained
  2    novice, amateur
  3    professional
  4    champion
  5    master
  6    sorcerer

my (as a player character ) would nicely look like this:

Fighter  4
4 Str  Lightning calculator
1 Dex  Find Weakness

Barbarian  3
1 Str  Resistance to Interrogation
3 Con  Animal Empathy

Ranger  15
6 Str  Find the Path
4 Int  Ambidexterity

Priest  16
5 Str  Bureaucratics
5 Wis  Bribery

Paladin  9
5 Str  Smite (money)
2 Cha  Danger Sense

Ninja  6
2 Dex  Speed Reading
3 Con  Defense Manoeuver

Illusionist  2
2 Dex  Arcana Lore
1 Int  Ventriloquism

Monk  6
2 Dex  Flexible Jointed
3 Wis  Absolute Time Sense

Thief  2
2 Dex  Fast Draw
1 Cha  Luck

Psionicist  3
3 Con  Life Support
1 Int  Eidetic Memory

Druid  9
5 Con  Science
2 Wis  Feign Death

Brute  10
4 Con  Beast of Burden (from ADOM the Roguelike)
3 Cha  BlindFighting

ArchMage  11
3 Int  Universal Translator
5 Wis  Financial Resorts, Investment Facilities

Bard  4
1 Int  Cramming
4 Cha  Perfect Pitch

Ruler  4
2 Wis  Lightsleep
2 Cha  Seduction

stats :
STR 21
DEX  9
CON 18
INT  10
WIS  17
CHA  12

(class levels are examples of what you obtain with combining both talent levels and referring to BASE 6 scores)

               BASE
score   3   4   5   6
   1      1   1   1   1 must take three class hindrances
   2      2   2   2   2 must take two class hindrances
   3      3   3   3   3 must take one class hindrance
   4      4   4   4   4 equivalent to 0th Ad&d level
   5      6   6   5   5 equivalent to 1st Ad&d level
   6      9   8   6   6 equivalent to 2nd Ad&d level
   7            9   8   8 equivalent to 3rd Ad&d level
   8           12  9   9 equivalent to 5th Ad&d level
   9           16 10 10 equivalent to 7th Ad&d level
  10                12 12 equivalent to 9th Ad&d level
  11                15 15 equivalent to 11th Ad&d level
  12                16 16
  13                20 18
  14                25 20
  15                      24
  16                      25
  17                      30
  18                      36 equivalent to 18th Ad&d level

(alternatively - and really easier indeed - you simply add two talents and add -2 for a class value of 0 to 10; you then refer to DnD 3E prestige classes - but in class levels addition I would end up being GL 57 out of 150 ! )

another approach to this system:

4 Str  Lightning calculator like in playing chess under blitz mode (hope you know what I'm speaking of)
1 Str  Resistance to Interrogation and to Pain
6 Str  Find the Path = Dungeoneering
5 Str  Bureaucratics = knowledge of the Laws
5 Str  Smite (money) = enforce your opponent (like in Mangas, where the girls often hit boys with giant hammers leaving a visible funny mark ?!?)
____ 21 STR
5 Dex  Find Weakness = find weak spots within structures (well, actually mine score is 2 - too late to correct things up... )
4 Dex  Speed Reading = how to read newspapers
2 Dex  Arcana Lore = knowledge of the astral plane (and operation within ??)
2 Dex  Flexible Jointed = contortionism
3 Dex  Fast Draw = deals with initiative
____ 16 DEX
3 Con  Animal Empathy = how to deal with nature beings and your own self
2 Con  Defense Manoeuver = never let a clear shot from behind
3 Con  Life Support = how to deal with poisons, illness, drowning, high pressure, vacuum, and the like
5 Con  Science = knowledge of the Torah
4 Con  Beast of Burden (from ADOM the Roguelike) = ability to carry (and then drive) bulk items (well again mine score is 2 not 4)
____ 17 CON
4 Int  Ambidexterity = ability to let objects fall in your hands (that is, you happen to say: " Oh, now I've got this knife aimed at you; quickly I shall drop it, or else combat might occur..." ---> perhaps level 6 pertains to teleportation tricks)
2 Int  Ventriloquism = weeell sounds in my stomachs
1 Int  Eidetic Memory = when you concentrate on a topic and win on the subject (for me I'm short-sighted so I don't claim a victory here)
3 Int  Universal Translator = ESP and Tongues
2 Int  Cramming = when you get preparation for an exam and manage to retrieve general info on the subject, so that you look like a mentor to the common folk)
____ 12 INT
6 Wis  Bribery = ability to make friends in useful food/tools/data propagation (well, mine level is 5 ookay no magic here 4? wtf noone learns in this regards? )
2 Wis  Absolute Time Sense = free action, meditative facilities
2 Wis  Feign Death = should be food consumption and education (???)
6 Wis  Financial Resorts, Investment Facilities = gives your wealth status (ah? ===> level 2 fer me then)
2 Wis  Lightsleep = gives your mental prowess and defense
____ 18 WIS
4 Cha  Danger Sense = prevents you from immediate threats
1 Cha  Luck = lets you (I know because one friend has got) win in dice rolls (so perhaps you can arrange your lifestyle as you wish? )
3 Cha  BlindFighting = combat mode where you smell the general location of neighbours and forget they are made of flesh and bones ( ... )
4 Cha  Perfect Pitch = lets you modulate your voice (or others' voice, yes! I am level 5)
2 Cha  Seduction = know how to ... use poetry (ouais, of! why not give me a 1 here eh? )
____ 14 CHA

Level  # talents
 1         3 untrained talents
 2         9
 3         5  gives extra hit points
 4         6  gives hit points level
 5         4  adds to hit points level, gives Fighter level, gives extra Spell Caster points
 6         3  adds to hit points level, adds to Fighter Level, gives Spell Caster Level points

using this table, the character would have 6 + 4 + 3 = 13 hit point levels, plus 5 extra hit points for a total hit points of 96;
he would be Fighter Level 4 + 3 = 7, that is, +7 to-hit, 1.5 per round Attacks or the like;
he would bear Spell Caster Level 3 (that is, six points) + 4 spell caster points for a total of 10 spell caster points, that is final Spell Caster Level 4; this would let him launch 3/2 spells of level 1/2 typically (chosen within his 3 spell lists of financial resorts, bribery and find the path).

Talents are used differently according to the six levels :

1 untrained : you cannot use this talent
2 basic knowledge : use of this talent is with no conscious control (so it is up to your DM to let you use this talent)
3 professional use : you use this talent whenever you encounter a challenge to get overcomed (!)
4 champion : this talent is always on, so you always get the benefit of this talent
5 mastery : you can freely use this talent on others, so that they get the benefit of the talent
6 sorcerer : you have entered the realm of MAGIC (?) in your knowledge of this talent (...)

Then you could rule that:

level 2 (amateurs) is for Good people
level 3 (professionals) is for Evil people
level 4 (champions) is for Chaotic ones
level 5 (masters) is for Lawful ones
level 6 (sorcerers) is for Neutral ones

.

edit: I even know why I wrote this that way: level 3 universal translator meaning I translate things in my head twistedfully, and level 1 eidetic memory so I can't hope to win respect for my "work";

or, using the CORNE system:

level  Domain
  2+     Nature
  3+     Outils/Technics
  4+     Corps/Body Reigns
  5+     Relationship
  6      Esprit/Psyche

so that, say a character like:

level  #talents
  1         4
  2        11
  3         5
  4         4
  5         5
  6         1

would bear CORNE values of:
Nature 26
Technics 15
Body Reigns 10
Relationship 6
Psyche 1

then, alternative CORNE definitions are (unlike what is stated elsewhere):
Nature = merit x faith
Technics = egoism x reputation
Body = strength x suppleness
Relationship = satiation x health
Psyche = science x charms

strength from Body is already located as the Strength stat,
science from Psyche is already located as Science = knowledge of the Torah.

strength from Body can be reshaped as Steel, with suppleness becoming Velvet;
science from Psyche can't exist any longer... sorry but I definately think my level 1 in Psyche can't help you gain knowledge (or whatever) in the magic arts; let's say Psyche is your Magic-User level.

Is the WISE system back from the charts?

WISE:
Willpower for Magic-Users
Instinct for Thieves
Strength for Fighters
Empathy for Clerics

well, we can retrieve
Willpower from Psyche
Empathy from Relationship
Strength from Body
Instinct from Technics;

so perhaps we could write

level
  2     adds points to Thief Level
  3     gives Thief Level, adds points to Fighter Level
  4     adds Levels to Thief Level, gives Fighter Level, adds points to Cleric Level
  5     adds Levels to Thief Level and to Fighter Level, gives Cleric Level, adds points to Magic-User Level
  6     adds Levels to Thief Level, Fighter Level and Cleric Level, gives Magic-User Level

so, that same character with

level  #talents
  1         4
  2        11
  3         5
  4         4
  5         5
  6         1

would be
Thief Level (5+4+5+1)=15= 120 points +11 points = Level 15
Fighter Level (4+5+1)=10= 55 points + 5 points = Level 10
Cleric Level (5+1)=6= 21 points + 4 points = Level 6
Magic User Level 1= 1 point + 5 points = 6 points = Level 3

one funny method to calculate hit points:

- You have thirty slots of hit points
- each time you climb up in a given class, you can either
- - roll for hit points in a slot whose number is less than or equal to class level, eventually replacing old hit point value if roll is higher
- - add +1 to an existing hit point slot, with a maximum hit point value of 10
- class hit dice are d4 for Magic User Levels, d8 for Cleric Levels, d10 for Fighter Levels and d6 for Thief Levels

Looking at a system from a different perspective is good. It can lead to improvements. I can't say that I understand all this but it is definately a different perspective. : )

actually there was obviously a mistake in between the Brute class and the Barbarian class;

shadda better speak of the Brute as Str/Con and the Barbarian Con/Cha (just have to replace Brute with Barbarian and Barbarian with Brute )

just watched the cone from Carl Gustav Jung's theory of analytical psychology:

5=1 archaïc unconscious
4=2 collective unconscious
3=3 personal unconscious
2=4 consciousness

well I don't think Barbarian is well defined with terms Con/Cha;

Con/Cha should better relate to the Shaman (but there are Shamans within Barbarian tribes lol)
