| #9KruskNov 30, 2008 18:50:31 | I hope you have a better way to present this to your players, because I know mine would never be bothered to try and navigate a single thread to find the one bit of information they want. Especially one with a "Wall of text" this big. In post #4 is any of this information about city population relavent to players? Do the words "Big city" and "little city" work well enough? if so consider using them. I know I wouldn'tbe bothered to know which is a thorp and which is a hamlet. Racial Traits- my take *+2 Cha * Size : medium * Speed : 6 sq * +2 racial bonus to insight and persuasion checks. * low light vision * Special qualities : Resistance to cold, fire and electicity 5 (this is powerful in 4e) *Maybe an encounter power that allows a form of counterspell like "when targeted byan arcane attack, gain resist 5+1/2 level to it. Or That attack gains -2 or something like that" They seem like an npc race to me, but its your world. -Ele drize * +2 Dexterity, +2 Wisdom (they seem like a wise or at least aware race to me) * Humanoid (Elf) * Medium: As Medium creatures, ele drize have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size. * Ele drize base land speed is 6 squares * Medium. * +2 racial bonus to saving throws against powers with the sleep or charm keyword. * Low-Light Vision: He retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions. * Weapon Proficiency: Ele drize receive the Martial Weapon Proficiency feats for the longsword, longbow, and shortbow as a racial bonus. (no more rapier) * Automatic Languages: Ancient VorsTel, common. * (dropped ageing penalties and bonuses) A lot of your information seems more than your players should need to know. Consider condensing what you show them, into a page or two tops. |
| #10dirtymc11Dec 01, 2008 0:31:12 | I am looking at your stat sugs and seeing if they would fit as well as they seem to at 1st glance (thanks). And oh yes most of this stuff is way more than my players will ever need...........however my group does consist of an archaeologist and an anthropologist as well as myself (sociologist) so they do kind of ask for this stuff. Thankfully they help out with alot of this stuff so I dont have to do it all myself. I am however trying to learn how to make these posts easier to peruse. saw one post where the guy had headers and then links to those topics if you were interested in more. any idea on how to do that And I do know that I tend to overdo my fluff most all the time but it does help me figure out how people coming from those societies will react to various things with logic and consistency. |

Have this as a "hey if your interested here is more type thing. I was about to post that I did not know how to do hyperlinks like that but then I realized they ar the same way I did them in my sig, so clearly I did at one point. I will investigate and edit in the method I used. ----------------------------------------------- ok, so it appears you do it like so. I will use my mul race as a shameless bump, and an example. Mul Race Like that, without the space beind the last ] in at the end of the link. You insert your post you want to link to insead of my hyperlink. To view a single post, in the top right of each post there is a post number. Click that, and it takes your right to post X. Copy and paste this hyperlink as the one you want to use. Where I have written Mul Race, that is an example of the text you want displayed instead of a hyperlink. --------------------------------------------- For additional formatting help, consider using lots of Bold, underline, pictures, and even colors. Just look at it and make sure it doesn't look like crap when your done. ----- Or just make a yahoo group for it. I personally cannot recomend against a yahoo group stongly enough. In a public forum, or wki style format anyone can comment and give you outside advice. Most people are not willing to make an account to deal with your yahoo group just to help you out unless they are your players. |
| #12dirtymc11Dec 01, 2008 15:34:13 | I have taken your advice about the yahoo group and it definitely helps organize. As for the other way you told me to try I will attempt it when I have time. For now I have posted links to the yahoo group |
| #13dirtymc11Dec 01, 2008 15:41:27 | The Kaian and Korshan peoples are the most civilized of the humans of Obiniaras. They came to this land as refugees over 3 thousand years ago. In that time they have accepted the VorsTel Pantheon as their own (they call their acceptance of these Akar The Embrace) Both societies function on a fuedal basis. The following link deals in more detail what that entails. http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/akardzon/files/The%20Kai/Kaian%20and%20Korshan%20Society/ |
| #14KruskDec 01, 2008 22:12:00 | I have taken your advice about the yahoo group and it definitely helps organize. As for the other way you told me to try I will attempt it when I have time. For now I have posted links to the yahoo group I think you misunderstood my advice about a yahoo group. I said I can't recomend Against a yahoo group enough. No one outside your players will bother joining it, or reading what you have posted there. I already logged into the Wotc forums, I find logging into things a pain, why do I want to log into another site to get access to something that in all honesty is probably horrible. (not a stab at you, but at 98% of most homebrew stuff everywhere, including my own.) If you want an external site that is free and allows easy organization, while still letting anyone who clicks a link to it see it (IE no one has to log in) consider http://www.wetpaint.com/ . For a sample of one that is fairly fleshed out, see my own, http://4ecampaign.wetpaint.com/ . I have it set so anyone can see the pages, and comment in the threads below them, but only registered members can change what is written. And as an admin, I get a changelog, where I can se what was changed, by whom, and when. If I dislike, I can ban and then refuse admittance to anyone I want for whatever reason, and then change it back with minimal effort. |
